Senior Principal Technical Program Manager

We're hiring a Senior Principal Technical Program Manager for Dev Infra.
The Dev Infra team creates platforms, tools, and services for developers, designers, content designers to create a consistent experience across Atlassian products.
As a founding member of the TPM team you will bring leadership necessary to transform and drive Dev Infra strategy.
In this role, you will demonstrate innovative thinking, collaborative problem-solving skills, as well as a passion for working in a highly cross-functional environment. This is a unique opportunity to influence important technical decisions across the company. You will be working with world-class engineering teams and experts to build platform and tools while breaking down technical barriers and strengthening existing systems.
While you will start as an Individual Contributor, we envision growth of the team and likely evolution of this role into a People Management role.
As a member of the TPM team, you will also shape the TPM craft, which is still in a formation stage. We envision TPMs to have strong technical depth, ability to shape product strategy and drive its execution in close collaboration with stakeholders across numerous crafts and product areas.

• Analyze the current state of Dev Infra, business objectives, customer needs, product adoption inhibitors, industry trends, and based on these, in close collaboration with your stakeholders, define a long-term strategy and roadmap for Dev Infra.
• Ensure translation of the strategy and platform/product requirements into technical requirements and solutions in collaboration with your partner teams and engineering counterparts.
• Streamline the execution of the articulated roadmap. Drive adoption/usage of the platform and tools across Atlassian product teams.
• While this list highlights the most common responsibilities, I want to emphasize the importance of the sense of ownership that you will have for your platform and products, programs, customer scenarios. This means that you will need to proactively identify any inhibitors, issues or opportunities, and proactively address them yourself or find the right owners to do so. The bottom line is that you are a true owner of your area and the buck stops with you.
• As a senior member of the Dev Infra community, you may be driving some of the most complex, cross-divisional projects/initiatives. This will likely include managing complex dependencies and projects with a broad scope across the company

• 12+ years on software teams as TPM, Engineer, Engineering Manager or PM
• Analyzing business priorities, customer needs, industry trends and articulating a long-term roadmap for your area of responsibilities
• Translating customer and/or product requirements into technical requirements
• Influencing architecture or technical design, by leveraging subject matter expertise and technical depth that you build in your previous roles
• Driving projects spanning multiple teams, including negotiating and reaching agreement with your partners and stakeholders, shepherding the project while identifying and mitigating risks, making trade-off decisions optimizing the outcome
• Experience building commercial Cloud Services
• Experience in building tools and platforms used by software engineers is a big plus
• 3+ years of People Management experience
