The Senior Principal SW Test Architect is a key technical leadership role in our Neuroscience technology design center. In this position, you will lead the architecture, design and implementation of various testing frameworks for medical devices and cloud applications for implantable deep brain stimulation, spinal cord stimulation, targeted drug delivery, and pelvic health medical devices. This role will provide key leadership, deep subject matter expertise, technical/project oversight and training/coaching.
A Day in the Life

Take a leadership role in the design and development of high integrity software and test systems for medical devices and systems

Take a leadership role in identifying and implementing best-in-class software test automation systems, methods, tools and standards

Work with senior leadership, cross-functional stakeholders and software team to develop and maintain the software test automation roadmap

Mentor SDETs and provide technical guidance as necessary

Evaluation of existing automation solutions and defining improvements to test strategy, test frameworks, infrastructure and tools

Work closely with DevOps to optimize testing through the CI/CD pipeline

Stay abreast of industry trends and advancements in software testing methodologies and tools
Must Have: Minimum Requirements

Baccalaureate degree minimum of 10 years of relevant experience, or
-
Advanced degree with a minimum of 8 years of relevant experience
Nice to Have
-
Expert working knowledge of Java, Javascript, Kotlin, Groovy and related languages

Highly knowledgeable in web application architectures and testing

Messaging – deep knowledge of messaging and streaming solutions like ActiveMQ, Amazon SQS, and Kafka

Experience testing applications for high availability and scalability

Excellent understanding of Systems Engineering

Effective communication and presentation skills

Salary ranges for U.S (excl. PR) locations (USD):$169,600.00 - $254,400.00
This position is eligible for a short-term incentive called the Medtronic Incentive Plan (MIP).
The base salary range is applicable across the United States, excluding Puerto Rico and specific locations in California. The offered rate complies with federal and local regulations and may vary based on factors such as experience, certification/education, market conditions, and location. Compensation and benefits information pertains solely to candidates hired within the United States (local market compensation and benefits will apply for others).
The following benefits and additional compensation are available to those regular employees who work 20+ hours per week: Health, Dental and vision insurance, Health Savings Account, Healthcare Flexible Spending Account, Life insurance, Long-term disability leave, Dependent daycare spending account, Tuition assistance/reimbursement, and Simple Steps (global well-being program).
