Autodesk's Growth Experience Technology (GET), Education team is looking for an experienced Senior Principal Engineer to join our globally distributed team.
You will be tasked to architect and develop robust, and performant websites and services. Our drive is to help the education community thrive and most importantly enable them to make anything. The Education team faces a variety of unique and interesting challenges such as: developing serverless applications, creating engaging end-user experiences, digging into low-level performance details, and streamlining processes. To be successful in this role, you will need a solid foundation in Object-Oriented Programming, JavaScript modules, modern front-end frameworks, and a passion for the latest cloud technologies. Responsibilities

Architect and develop new features
-
Lead the design and implementation of robust, highly available, scalable, responsive, distributed systems, microservices, and frontend applications

Focus on quality, including writing unit/integration/end-to-end test suites and refactoring when appropriate, and contribute to continuous integration, and deployment processes

Work closely with architects, technical leads, product owners to translate overall system architecture and product requirements into well-designed and implemented software components

Break apart complex initiatives into manageable chunks

Take ownership of the implementation of individual software components, with a high emphasis on quality, test-driven development, and sound software engineering practices

Participate in software design reviews, conduct peer code reviews, and provide input and feedback to other members of the development team

Lead and mentor team to follow software engineering standards, including efficiency, quality, security, resiliency, and other best practices

Collaborate as a member of an agile team to get products and components developed and completed with best-in-class software development

Provide technical leadership and mentorship to junior engineers

Excellent technical problem-solving skills and aptitude to learn new technologies and methodologies

Low tolerance for inefficiency and a burning desire to automate anything that can be automated. Creative, collaborative, and product-focused

Provide experience and support for the overall planning, execution, and success of complex technical projects

Collaborate with a distributed team and stakeholders

Be a passionate and empathetic advocate of architecture, design, and software engineering principles
Minimum Qualifications
-
BA/BS degree or equivalent practical experience (MS in Computer Science or a related degree)
-
Experience public cloud service platforms such as Amazon Web Services (AWS) and DynamoDB
-
Solid experience in serverless technologies such as AWS Lambda
-
8+ years of relevant industry experience in React, Node.js, Next.js, and Typescript
-
8+ years of relevant industry experience in Javascript (or similar frameworks), PlayWright, and CatchPoint
-
Advanced experience of leveraging industry standard tools like Jenkins, GitHub, SonarQube, Splunk, Dynatrace, DAST, Synk and PagerDuty

Experience working with cross-functional stakeholders

Experience with Scrum and Agile development processes and methodologies
Preferred Qualifications
-
Experience working with AEM, Contentful or other CMS technologies

Experience in architecting AWS based systems

Salary is one part of Autodesk’s competitive compensation package. Offers are based on the candidate’s experience and geographic location.
