Q2 is seeking an ambitious and adaptable Lead Software Developer in Test experienced in the ins and outs of development in a team setting. As part of our team based in Bengaluru, India, you will be working individually and collaboratively to develop, implement, and support custom solutions through fast-paced, dynamic projects involving components at every level of the Q2 platform to extend its functionality to meet our clients’ unique needs. Our ideal candidate is someone with a self-motivated tinkering spirit and who is comfortable diving into professional development life while rapidly learning to engineer solutions using a mix of open technologies and our own proprietary framework.
Automation Framework Development: Extensive experience with various automation frameworks, including the design and development of at least one multi-functional automation framework (covering Web, API, Mobile, and/or Performance Testing) from the ground up.
Programming and Design Expertise: In-depth knowledge of object-oriented programming principles, design patterns, data structures, and unit testing. Candidate also should have strong hands-on expertise in UI Automation scripting using an OOP language like Python or Java.
API Testing and Automation: Expertise in testing web services (SOAP and RESTful APIs), with a strong focus on API automation.
Parallel Test Execution and Infrastructure Setup: Proficient in creating infrastructure for parallel test execution using cloud infrastructure, container orchestration platforms (e.g., Nomad or Kubernetes), or Selenium Grid. Must have expertise in CI/CD pipeline creation and container creation/management using tools like Jenkins.
Web Application Testing and Debugging: Solid experience in testing web-based software solutions and debugging complex web application issues through code reviews and detailed log analysis.
Database Expertise: Competent in working with databases such as Postgres, MySQL, Oracle, or NoSQL systems.
Performance Testing: Experience with any load testing framework (e.g., K6 or Locust) is a significant plus.
Test Management and Leadership: Strong skills in test case management, including creation, execution, reporting, and revision. Proven experience in leading automation initiatives and driving continuous improvement in testing processes.
Additional Skills:
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities, with a focus on delivering high-quality solutions.
- Ability to collaborate effectively across cross-functional teams and communicate technical details clearly.
- Must have experience in enabling teams to adopt best practices for Quality Engineering and testing automation.
A Bachelor’s degree in Software Engineering, Computer Science, IT, or a related technical field, with 8+ years of professional experience. An equivalent combination of education and relevant work experience will also be considered.
Must-Have Skills:
We are seeking a Test Architect with strong programming skills and deep expertise in test infrastructure. The ideal candidate will have experience in:
• Test Orchestration and Automation Frameworks development
• Containerization and environment management using Docker
• Continuous Integration/Deployment using Jenkins
• Cloud platforms such as AWS or Azure
• Developing custom tools and utilities to drive automation, scalability, and efficiency
This position requires fluent written and oral communication in English.
