The Senior Principal Portfolio Lead will serve as a vital leader within Cox Enterprises' Enterprise Architecture team. This role is responsible for defining and driving architecture strategies across multiple business domains, ensuring alignment with enterprise goals and fostering innovation. This individual will leverage their expertise in enterprise-scale architecture and cross-domain solutions to deliver transformative outcomes. The Senior Principal Portfolio Lead will partner closely with business and technology stakeholders to ensure solutions are strategic, scalable, and sustainable.
Responsibilities
Leadership & Management
- Provide leadership in technology delivery and architecture for the portfolio, collaborating with a broad set of stakeholders and guiding the work of Solution Architects through mentorship and support.
- Collaborate with the Chief Architect and other leadership team members to set and execute the enterprise architecture vision.
- Foster a culture of innovation, collaboration, and continuous improvement within the architecture team.
- Guide, coach, and mentor emerging architecture team members, fostering their professional growth and ensuring alignment with best practices and organizational goals.
Strategic Partnership & Alignment
- Partner with senior Finance and Supply Chain leaders to understand business objectives, challenges, and opportunities.
- Translate business needs into strategic architectural plans and actionable roadmaps.
- Champion architectural governance processes, ensuring alignment with enterprise standards and priorities.
Technical Expertise & Delivery
- Design and oversee the implementation of scalable, secure, and cost-effective solutions across Finance and Supply Chain systems.
- Provide thought leadership in areas such as enterprise integration, data management, ERP systems, and cloud platforms.
- Leverage modern architectural patterns, including microservices, APIs, and hybrid cloud, to modernize legacy systems and reduce technical debt.
- Ensure architectural designs support operational excellence, including scalability, performance, security, and compliance.
Innovation & Thought Leadership
- Stay abreast of emerging technologies and industry trends to identify opportunities for innovation.
- Lead the evaluation and adoption of new technologies that align with strategic objectives.
Cross-Functional Collaboration
- Engage with other architecture domains, including data, security, and infrastructure, to ensure holistic solutions.
- Collaborate with delivery teams, project managers, and product owners to enable successful project execution.
Business Domain Focus
In addition to general responsibilities, this role will focus on the Finance and Supply Chain business areas. The Senior Principal Portfolio Lead will play a critical role in defining architecture strategies and solutions that enable transformation and operational excellence in these domains. Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
- Collaborating with Finance and Supply Chain leaders to understand business challenges and opportunities, translating them into technical solutions.
- Driving the design and implementation of ERP systems and integration platforms to support finance and supply chain processes.
- Developing scalable architectures to modernize legacy systems and improve efficiency in financial operations, procurement, and supply chain management.
- Ensuring solutions align with compliance standards and organizational priorities.
- Leveraging industry best practices and emerging technologies to innovate within the Finance and Supply Chain domains.
Qualifications
Education & Experience
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related discipline and 12 years' experience in a related field. The right candidate could also have a different combination, such as master's degree and 10 years' experience; a Ph.D and 7 years' experience in a related field; or 24 years' experience in a related field.
- Minimum of 12+ years of progressive experience in architecture , including 7+ years in leadership roles .
- Demonstrated expertise in enterprise-scale architecture , particularly within Finance and Supply Chain domains.
- Proven track record in managing teams and driving enterprise-wide initiatives.
Technical Skills
- Minimum of 10 years' experience with modern enterprise solutions (for Principal roles, a minimum of 10 years is expected) , including ERP systems (e.g., Workday, Oracle Cloud, SAP), cloud platforms (e.g., Azure, AWS, GCP), and integration technologies.
- Minimum of 7 years' experience implementing API management, microservices, and hybrid cloud solutions (aligned to Senior Principal role expectations) .
- Minimum of 8 years of experience with data architecture, application architecture, and security disciplines .
- Demonstrated expertise in scalable, secure, and cost-efficient designs .
Leadership & Communication
- Strong interpersonal and stakeholder management skills with the ability to influence senior leaders.
- Excellent communication and presentation skills, capable of engaging technical and non-technical audiences.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with Workday, Oracle Cloud, or SAP in Finance and Supply Chain.
- Knowledge of FinOps principles and cost optimization strategies.
- Certifications in Enterprise Architecture (e.g., TOGAF) or cloud platforms (e.g., Azure Solutions Architect, AWS Certified Solutions Architect).
USD 192,800.00 - 321,400.00
Compensation:
Compensation includes a base salary of $192,800.00 - $321,400.00. The base salary may vary within the anticipated base pay range based on factors such as the ultimate location of the position and the selected candidate's knowledge, skills, and abilities. Position may be eligible for additional compensation that may include an incentive program.

The Company offers eligible employees the flexibility to take as much vacation with pay as they deem consistent with their duties, the company's needs, and its obligations; seven paid holidays throughout the calendar year; and up to 160 hours of paid wellness annually for their own wellness or that of family members.
