Job Summary:

We are seeking an experienced and technically proficient Senior People Technology Partner to lead the ongoing implementation, configuration, and optimization of our Workday platform. The ideal candidate will have a deep understanding of Workday's capabilities and be able to translate business needs into technical solutions that enhance our People processes. Their experience must include direct experience implementing and optimizing Workday.  
This role requires strong project management skills, the ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams, detail orientation, sense of urgency and a commitment to driving continuous improvement in our Workday environment. This position combines technical expertise with Workday technology thought leadership to ensure the effective implementation, customization, and optimization of Workday solutions across the organization in line with best practices. This is a hands-on technology practitioner role. 

Key Responsibilities:

Workday Configuration & Customization: 

  • Lead the design, configuration, and deployment of Workday modules, including People Analytics, Payroll along with Time and Attendance, and Workday Journeys
  • Customize Workday solutions to meet organizational needs, including creating calculated fields, custom reports, and complex business processes
  • Experience performing a top-to-bottom assessment of Workday configurations to help identify optimization opportunities 
  • Ensure the Workday system is aligned with business requirements and industry best practices
  • Provide oversight and governance by ensuring Workday Security is configured correctly and assigned to the appropriate roles and tasks

Internal and External Stakeholder Management 

  • Works with COEs and cross-functional partners to define, prioritize, and implement business requirements on an ongoing basis 
  • Manages releases based on prioritized business requirements 
  • Maintains and leverages relationships inside and outside of Risepoint to maintain our ecosystem 
  • Respond to people team and employee/people manager tickets regarding Workday issues and break/fixes

 Technical Support and Troubleshooting: 

  • Serve as the primary technical resource for troubleshooting and resolving complex issues within the Workday platform. 
  • Provide ongoing support and technical guidance to end-users and other technical teams 
  • Monitor system performance and make necessary adjustments to improve efficiency and user experience

 System Maintenance and Updates: 

  • Oversee routine system maintenance, including Workday updates, security reviews, and system audits. 
  • Stay up to date with Workday releases and enhancements, ensuring the organization maximizes the platform’s capabilities. 
  • Develop and enforce Workday best practices and governance policies

 People Technology and Data Ownership: 

  • Work collaboratively to identify and resolve data accuracy issues wherever they exist within Workday
  • The role includes both architecting and supporting tools themselves as well as the data they use and produce
  • The role is responsible for the managing and implementing security roles in WD and other People Team Tech systems 

Education and Experience: 

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Business Administration, or a related field. 
  • 8+ years of experience working with Workday, with a strong focus on configuration, customization, reporting and integration. 
  • Proven experience managing large-scale Workday implementations or upgrade projects. 
  • Experience working in Salesforce ticketing system is a plus 
  • Expertise in Workday Studio, EIB, Workday Report Writer, Configuration, Calculated Fields, Core Connectors, Proactive Monitoring, and Workday Security. 
  • Strong understanding of people and financial processes as they relate to Workday. 
  • Workday certifications in relevant modules (e.g., HCM, Integrations) are required. 
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to convey complex technical information to non-technical stakeholders. 
  • Demonstrated ability to lead technical projects and mentor junior team members as needed. 

Skills and Competencies: 

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to quickly identify and resolve issues. 
  • Experience with project management methodologies and tools. 
  • Superior communication and interpersonal skills. 
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, including strong data analysis and data storytelling skills. 
  • Experience working in a shared services environment is desired 
  • Ability to handle multiple tasks and prioritize effectively in a fast-paced environment.
