Position Overview:

We are looking for an energetic and experienced Senior Payroll Specialist that will function as a lead processor for our Global Payroll department. The ideal candidate will have 3-5 years of end-to-end payroll processing experience, the ability to meet strict time-sensitive deadlines, a strong work ethic, exceptional attention to detail, strong English language skills (written and spoken) and excellent customer service skills as you’ll be assisting employees globally in many different countries. The global team processes payroll in about 20 countries and for 1600 employees.

Job Scope:

• Understand labor/payroll related rules and regulations in the APJ countries 
• Liaise with payroll vendors in Singapore, Australia, Japan, India, Malaysia to complete monthly payroll cycles 
• Handle payroll relates issues raised by employees from the countries 
• Liaise with HR and cost center owners on any special arrangements
• Front line handling employees' queries on all payroll questions; including payroll taxes, pay slips, bonus, commission
• Understand and able to manage payroll processes relating to new joiners, resignations, retrenchments 
• Yearly staff wellness benefits audit check
• Own the preparation of payroll - related journal entries, balance sheet reconciliations, and supporting models as a key participant in the financial close process
• Prepare banking journal entries on all payroll related transactions 
• Prepare and complete Floqast checklist and reconciliations.
• Prepare cash flow forecast on payroll related costs monthly 
• Understand department and location concept 
• Ensure payroll related payments (salaries, payroll taxes, social costs) are paid on time and there is no delays 
• Able to answer payroll related queries raised by auditors 
• Other responsibilities or projects assigned by the group manager or APJ finance controller 

Qualifications

Required Skills:

• Diploma/Degree in accounting or finance field; or ACCA/CPA in progress 
• 3 years' experience in handling APJ payroll 
• Detail oriented and can operate in a fast paced, deadline driven environment
• Strong multi-tasking skills and with the flexibility to switch from one project to the next quickly
• Good knowledge of Excel, including pivot tables and lookup formulas
• Excellent oral and written communication skills in English
• Experience using NetSuite a plus
