Description

Who we are, what we do & why we do it:

We are Dext - the world's leading accounting & bookkeeping automation software provider. Our products give businesses real-time visibility and control over spend, payments and expenses, and help accountants and bookkeepers reach new levels of efficiency when working with complex financial data workflows. We are trusted by over 1 million SMBs worldwide. Our solutions embrace AI, machine learning, and emerging technologies to advance and improve the accounting process and data quality for all, making accounting more effortless.

Dext operates across Europe, North America and APAC, with a rapidly expanding SaaS product offering, including the introduction of payments. We are looking for a Principal UX Designer who is very familiar with the core payment flows of receiving money in, holding a balance, paying money out and issuing cards, to drive the design thinking and delivery for this new initiative. This is a high-profile initiative, with ambitious delivery timelines, and will effectively set payments up as a new line of business. 🚀

It's a fabulous opportunity to make your mark and join our team in the UK to be part of one of the world's leading finance solution providers.

The role - what you’ll do:

The Principal UX Designer is responsible for creating and optimising user-centric payment systems and experiences, ensuring seamless, secure, and efficient transactions across various platforms while collaborating with cross-functional teams to meet business and technical requirements.

The Senior Designer will work primarily in the payments delivery team but is not committed to this team and has flexibility to do other work if needed.

The team has a clear vision of being a diverse and collaborative team of experts, creating experiences users ‘love to need’ in a business at the forefront of innovation.

The day-to-day:

  • Lead the discovery and design phases to shape and deliver payment solutions.
  • Collaborate with the delivery team to manage the Payments product roadmap and align with key metrics.
  • Work closely with stakeholders across the business to ensure alignment and progress.
  • Design with regional differences in mind to support core markets (UK, France, Canada/US, Australia) and non-core markets (EU, South Africa, APAC).
  • Use data and user insights to continuously improve payment solutions based on customer behaviors and feedback.
  • Apply your expertise in payments and compliance to guide the team in defining problems and solutions.
  • Ideate, prototype, and rigorously test concepts with users to refine the product design.
  • Deliver high-quality UX solutions for both web and mobile, adhering to best practices and Dext design system standards.
  • Manage stakeholders at all levels, facilitating alignment through workshops and collaborative meetings.

About you - what we are looking for:

Below are our ideal requirements, but we hire on potential, not just on experience, and we know that some people are less likely to apply for a role if they don’t meet 100% of the criteria. At Dext we are committed to cultivating a diverse, inclusive and empowering culture, so please apply if you meet the majority of these competencies.

  • 5+ years in user experience design and 3+ years working in the payments space.
  • Deep understanding of payments workflows across the core use cases / Dext personas.
  • Familiarity with different requirements and user behaviour across different markets.
  • Confident in discovery and experienced in using data and user insights to make the right design decisions, at the right time.
  • Confident with agile practices.
  • Excellent communication skills, with experience presenting and collaborating with C-level executives and senior stakeholders.
  • Background in B2B SaaS, ideally with experience working alongside integration partners to deliver essential functionality.
  • Familiarity with accounting practices or expense/ spend management will be a plus.

What you will be part of - our values, culture and behaviours:

We are a highly ambitious, innovative, market-leading FinTech. We are a global, Private Equity backed business (HgCapital), but we have the dexterity and pace of a scale-up.
