The Department & Team 

The Technical Development team drives innovation and creativity in the product development. We are responsible for the end-to-end technical process, from initial concept to final garment, the team ensures high-quality standards and product excellence while meeting company and divisional KPIs.

By closely collaborating with key stakeholders—including Product Development, Design, Merchandising, and global teams—the team plays a vital role in delivering the brand's DNA.

 

The Position

The senior pattern cutter is experienced in pattern cutting and technical development, responsible for creating patterns, draping, and maintaining pattern block libraries while driving new silhouette development.

Works closely with Design, Technical Development and Product Development to interpret sketches, develop womenswear woven product, align with market needs, and meet shared deadlines.

 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Research & development
  • Developing patterns using the Gerber system, from initial handover stage through to production approval.
  • Working closely with design and development teams to develop styles with a design lead vision.
  • Attend fittings for womenswear collection providing technical feedback, pattern alterations and fit comments are required.
  • Maintain close relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Developing close relationships with vendors in all aspects related to brand & product expectations
  • Preparing patterns and specifications for factory send outs, generating pattern measurements in our PLM system.
  • Work with the atelier to ensure toils and mock-ups are ready on time for reviews.
  •  Support factories to ensure any queries are answered in a clear and timely manner.
  • Approve grading nests/grading charts received from factories as required.
  • Ad hoc tasks such as meeting preparation, analysis and supporting business projects related to product, process, and business requirements 
  • Coach junior team members

 

The Ideal Candidate:

  • 6+ years of experience in Pattern cutting
  • A bachelor/ master’s degree in fashion, garment technology, pattern cutting or equivalent experience in fashion, clothing or textiles industry
  • Experience in developing patterns across womenswear and menswear
  • Runway experience is a must.
  • Experience and high proficiency of Gerber is essential
  • Product knowledge of technical construction, manufacturing and production
  • Effective communication skills: inclusive team player, interdepartmental collaboration 
  • Solves wide range of issues using existing solutions with minimal guidance 
  • Works within operational objectives and contributes to the definition of processes/standards within own discipline
  • Able to work in a highly productive, fast paced environment with a hands-on approach
  • Flexibility required at peak times to manage workload
  • Self-driven, pragmatic, and business mind set

  • Good command of written & spoken English
