Department Overview

Citi provides Funds Services to a number of international clients utilizing its global presence and innovative technology platform.  Our Middle Office department provides a comprehensive service designed to assist our clients’ fund managers in managing the fund’s investments. The key pillars of this service include trade lifecycle management, customized reporting, data provision and a real time day to day operational support network.  

Team/Position Overview

The Funds Services Change departments supports our operations teams in the delivery of client requested changes, the implementation of regulatory and market-driven change, onboarding of new clients and the implementation of new products, process and strategic platform enhancements.

Citi are looking for a Senior Business Analyst within Securities Services Operations who will lead the implementation of changes for clients and the developments of new technologies within the Middle Office and Fund Accounting business, with a focus on OTC services.

What you will do:

The core responsibility is to lead the implementation of complex changes for our existing clients, and to support the expansion of services into new product areas, with a focus on OTC services, ranging from trade capture, confirmations and affirmations, settlements & reporting, as well as independent valuations services across the full range of OTC deriviatives.

Specifically, the role will involve:

  • Preparation of business requirement documentation & analysis of proposed system changes, gathering consensus between business requirements and technology deliverables
  • Partnering with peers to deliver on key implementation work, product developments and process efficiencies
  • Managing multiple high priority visible projects, both as lead business analyst and overseeing the quality of the execution of deliverables by more junior business analysts
  • Supporting implementation tasks and testing for new system functionalities and client changes

The successful candidate will need to be able to juggle the demands of a busy global book of work, oversee the delivery of changes by a team of junior business analysts and have SME knowledge in the Derivatives space to face off with external and internal stakeholders across the wide range of initiatives.

What we need from you:

The identified candidate must have:

  • Comprehensive knowledge of OTC Derivatives theory and application across all asset classes **Strong Derivatives knowledge a must have & will be tested within the interview**
  • Strong interpersonal skills as well as oral and written communication.
  • Extensive Experience working with OTC derivatives in a middle office capacity.
  • Change management experience as a business analyst i the OTC derivatives space

The identified candidate will have a distinct advantage should they have experience / knowledge in the following areas:

  • Independent valuation knowledge
  • Working knowledge of Calypso Technology or a similar industry application (e.g. Murex)
  • Working knowledge of industry applications including Bloomberg, Markit Trade Manager, Markitwire, IHS Markit Portfolio Valuations and TriResolve.
  • Computer Skills: Advanced knowledge of MS applications (Excel, VBA, Word, PPT) a must. Experience of other computer programming languages advantageous. Must be comfortable working in a logical manner.
  • Experience in client delivery and operations.
