What will you do?

At De Jong Packaging by Stora Enso, a leading player in the cardboard industry known for our high-quality packaging solutions and innovative production methods, we are looking to strengthen our production team with experienced and motivated Senior Operators who want to contribute to our success and ensure the quality of our products.

The production of corrugated cardboard and its processing into packaging is a very specific process. This process starts at our corrugated cardboard machines, where sheets of corrugated cardboard are made from rolls of paper. These sheets are then processed into boxes in the Processing department or at the Folding-Gluing machine through cutting, folding, printing, and punching. All of this is done according to specific designs, qualities, and sizes that are unique for each customer.

As a Senior Operator, you will work in one of the three departments in cardboard processing, and you will be responsible for operating, setting, and monitoring the production machines. You will ensure that the production process runs safely, efficiently, and smoothly, and that our products meet the highest quality standards. You will work closely with your colleagues and play a key role in optimizing production processes.

You will work in a 3-shift system. You and your team are responsible for the qualitative and quantitative production of the corrugated cardboard machine. As a Senior Operator, it is important that you can work independently in a short time on a part of the processing or corrugated cardboard machine according to the prevailing standards of quantity and quality. Because you have the capacity to operate all parts of the machine, you continuously have growth opportunities and new challenges in your work.

Key responsibilities and tasks:

  • Setting, operating, and monitoring various machines in the cardboard processing process.
  • Monitoring product quality and performing quality checks during the production process.
  • Responding quickly and efficiently to any malfunctions and resolving them to minimize downtime.
  • Working closely with the production planner to achieve production targets and follow the schedule.
  • Performing first-line maintenance on the machines and ensuring a clean and safe work environment.
  • Contributing to improvements in the production process to enhance efficiency and quality.
  • Coaching and guiding junior operators and ensuring a smooth handover between shifts.

What are we looking for?

  • You have completed an MBO education in a technical field and have an aptitude for technology.
  • You are proficient in the Dutch language.
  • You are a quick learner (you can quickly grasp new concepts).
  • You are motivated and visibly proactive.
  • You are capable of working well in a team.
  • You have 2 years of experience as an Operator in a production environment.

What do we offer you?

  • A fixed-term contract with the prospect of a permanent position;
  • A starting salary of €2900 gross per month based on a 40-hour workweek;
  • 20% shift allowance for working in 3 shifts;
  • A solid pension scheme and travel allowance;
  • We are a rapidly growing company, so there is also room for you to grow.

How can you apply for this role?

You can only submit your application to us by using our recruitment tool. As we are assessing our candidates on an ongoing basis, we hope to hear from you as soon as possible.
