ROLE OVERVIEW:

The Sr. Engineer, Network Operations provides technical expertise in managing LAN/WAN networks. This role is responsible for the design, development, and evaluation of network infrastructure while leading efforts in testing, quality assurance, configuration, installation, and support to ensure the seamless and timely implementation of network services. The position also involves conducting technical analyses of business operations to optimize network infrastructure and support efficient operations that align with business requirements. In addition to strategic responsibilities, the ideal candidate will not hesitate to take a hands-on approach, stepping in to support daily operations as needed.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate with network team members to ensure the smooth and reliable operation of network infrastructure, supporting business objectives and processes.
  • Partner with executive team members, decision-makers, and stakeholders to define business requirements and goals, and to identify and resolve business challenges.
  • Design and deploy new network services while enhancing existing network services to meet evolving needs.
  • Conduct cost-benefit and return-on-investment analyses for proposed systems to support informed management decisions.
  • Evaluate the effectiveness and efficiency of existing systems and processes; develop and implement strategies to improve or optimize them.
  • Create and maintain comprehensive documentation related to network configurations, systems, services, and processes.
  • Ensure compatibility and interoperability of in-house computing systems.
  • Coordinate and execute in-depth testing, including end-user reviews, for modified and new systems.
  • Monitor and assess network performance; prepare and deliver performance statistics and reports.
  • Oversee, optimize, and support the global Cisco ISE deployment.
  • Oversee, optimize, and support the global Cisco SD-WAN deployment.
  • Collaborate with subject matter experts to optimize and support global Palo Alto deployments, including on-premises firewalls and the Prisma Access SASE solution for mobile users and remote networks.
  • Assist in daily operations by resolving incidents, fulfilling service requests, and serving as a knowledge resource for other network engineers to foster their growth and development.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Education and Experience:

  • Typically possesses a Bachelor's Degree (or equivalent) and 8-12 years of relevant experience. 

Knowledge and Skills:

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Proven ability to plan and execute assigned projects and tasks effectively.
  • Strong organizational skills with exceptional attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Ability to work both independently and collaboratively in a team environment.
  • Advanced knowledge of IT networking hardware, software and the impact on business processes.
  • Preferably Cisco CCIE certified, minimum Cisco CCNP certified, any Palo Alto certification is a plus.
