Function:
Do you get excited about building robust, scalable IT systems and guiding a team to achieve operational excellence? As our IT Network Engineer, you’ll take charge of designing, implementing, and optimizing our Bank’s technology, with a focus on Cisco, Juniper Networks, NSX, and VXLAN. You’ll work closely with teams across the organization to ensure our systems are secure, resilient, and agile, enabling us to grow confidently in a fast-paced environment. Primary Responsibilities:
- Network Design & Maintenance:
- Lead the design, deployment, and maintenance of network infrastructure in compliance with Bank standards and best practices.
- Ensure systems are proactively monitored for performance, health, and compliance with lifecycle standards.
- Maintain software and firmware levels in accordance with Bank policies.
- Problem Resolution:
- Diagnose and resolve issues with network systems and infrastructure.
- Collaborate with third-party vendors (e.g., Cisco, Juniper Networks, telecom providers) to troubleshoot and resolve incidents.
- Documentation & Policy Development:
- Create and maintain accurate system diagrams and documentation.
- Contribute to the development and maintenance of IT policies, procedures, and processes.
- Document best practices and ensure alignment with industry recommendations and business needs.
- Team Support & Leadership:
- Provide training and mentorship to junior IT staff.
- Assist other Bank personnel with IT-related tasks as needed.
- Disaster Recovery & On-Call Support:
- Participate in disaster recovery and business continuity exercises.
- Support after-hours on-call rotation for critical issue resolution.
Business Partner Relations:
- Coordinate tasks with external partners to support Bank operations.
- Keep stakeholders informed of relevant activities and changes.
Compliance & Control:
- Ensure compliance with local, state, and federal regulations.
- Operate within the Bank’s change control framework and adhere to IT policies and licensing requirements.
Knowledge, Skills, and Experience Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in IT, Computer Science, or a related field; equivalent work experience considered. Graduate degree preferred.
- Technical certifications such as CCNP, CCIE, Juniper Mist, JunOS or VMware certifications are highly desirable.
- Advanced expertise in:
- Cisco IOS, NX-OS, and VoIP systems.
- Wireless technologies (e.g., Cisco WiFi, Juniper Networks) and network access control.
- Network monitoring tools (e.g., Cisco Prime, Cisco DNA Center, WhatsUp, Juniper Mist).
- Microsoft Windows Server (2016, 2019, 2022), Active Directory, DNS, DHCP.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills, with proficiency in documentation tools (MS Word, Excel, Visio).
- Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.
- Proven track record of adapting to and learning new technologies in a dynamic IT environment.
- Experience troubleshooting with third-party vendors and service providers.
Physical Requirements:
- Primarily office-based with occasional lifting of up to 35 lbs for equipment setup.
