Senior Network Engineer - Genesis Cloud Team

We at Holycode are currently looking for a Senior Network Engineer for our Genesis Cloud team, to architect, optimize, and scale our network infrastructure for bare-metal AI cloud computing. 

In this role, you will ensure high availability, security, and performance across our data centers, edge networking, and internal services. You will collaborate closely with cross-functional teams, maintain automated network management practices, and mentor junior colleagues in best practices.

Role Overview

As a Senior Network Engineer, you will be responsible for architecting, maintaining, and optimizing Genesis Cloud’s AI-focused network infrastructure. You will work on data center networking, peering, routing, and automation to ensure high-performance AI workloads run seamlessly. Beyond hands-on technical work, you will mentor junior engineers, share best practices, and foster a collaborative engineering culture within the team.

Key Responsibilities

• Design & Optimize High-Performance Cloud Networking
  • Architect and maintain network infrastructure for high-performance AI workloads.
  • Implement peering agreements and optimize edge/core router configurations.
  • Design Clos architectures to support high-speed cloud networking.
  • Monitor and optimize BGP, EVPN, and VXLAN routing.
• Data Center & Infrastructure Engineering
  • Design rack layouts with power and networking constraints in mind.
  • Deploy and maintain network hardware (switches, transceivers, cables, edge routers).
  • Oversee clean cabling and system racking for efficient data center operations.
• Network Operations & Security
  • Implement DDoS mitigation and blackholing strategies.
  • Troubleshoot routing issues and optimize network configurations.
  • Monitor and maintain InfiniBand infrastructure.
  • Ensure high availability and security across network services.
• Automation & Infrastructure as Code
  • Automate network deployments using GitOps principles, Ansible, and GitHub Actions.
  • Monitor network performance using observability and logging tools.
  • Document network configurations, procedures, and best practices in Confluence & Jira.
• Mentorship & Collaboration
  • Act as a technical mentor for junior engineers and network specialists.
  • Foster a culture of automation, security, and continuous learning.
  • Collaborate with other teams to ensure seamless network integration with AI infrastructure.

Requirements & Qualifications

• Must-Have Skills
  • Strong experience in network architecture & operations for cloud or data center environments, ideally 5+ years.
  • Expertise in BGP , EVPN, VXLAN, and peering configurations.
  • Proficiency in SONiC or other network operating systems (nOS).
  • Experience with routing daemons (FRR), DHCP , and (i)PXE boot environments.
  • Solid knowledge of Linux networking tools (iproute2, systemd, VPP , etc.).
  • Familiarity with InfiniBand administration and monitoring.
  • Strong scripting & automation skills (Bash, Python, Ansible, GitOps).
  • Ability to debug network issues, optimize routing, and ensure security.
  • Strong collaboration, problem-solving, and mentoring skills.
  • Proficient in both written and spoken English.
• Nice-to-Have Skills
  • Experience with Kubernetes networking (CNI, service meshes, multi-cluster networking).
  • Knowledge of high-performance computing (HPC) networking.
  • Understanding of data center automation (NixOS, Terraform, GitHub Actions).
  • Experience working with policy-based network security (OPA, Kyverno).
  • Contributions to open-source networking projects.
