What's exciting about the role

This role allows you to drive the quality and efficiency of Verifone’s POS products by designing test software, optimizing testing processes, and implementing new methodologies. You’ll collaborate closely with contract manufacturers, conduct diagnostics, and ensure seamless product integration, making a significant impact on reliability and market readiness.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

• Plan, design and develop embedded test application software for company’s new POS products.
• Provide detail test process guidelines to the development groups and evaluate the Contract Manufacturer process to ensure all testing requirements are met.
• Participate in the development and integration of products to support the testing of new product.
• Explore and develop new/creative test methodology.
• Conduct DFT reviews on new products to maximize test coverage.
• Review and improve testing process and test application software to ensure speedy test time without jeopardizing the testing quality.
• Provide training to Contract Manufacturer related to Company’s product - documentation and test & manufacturing requirements.
• Review test readiness for each stage of the new design’s engineering builds.
• Prepare test procedures/work instructions before each stage of the engineering builds.
• Support Service centers in repairing and testing of products.
• Design / define test fixture to support the product testing in production.
• Ability to develop test Software diagnostics and test application software for Linux and Android based OS.
• Failure analysis on fail units from production or field.
• Implement new tests and improve existing test cycle time and processes at Contract Manufacturer.

Skills and experience we desire

• Minimum bachelor's degree in EE or Computer Science.
• At least 5 years of experience in test engineering and test development in embedded devices.
• Required mix of Hardware and strong Software skills.
• Experience in evaluating and developing test manufacturing processes in parallel with engineering development.
• Possesses good programming skills in C/C++, Java and/or Kotlin and in developing embedded software on Linux and Android OS platform.
• Experience with tools such as Visual C++ or similar commercially available IDE.
• Experience in application of manufacturing techniques, manufacturing engineering or product development.
• Experience in working with outsourced manufacturing partners and ODM’s; as well as international suppliers.
• Experience with electronic documentation management systems (PDM), Agile experience preferred.
• Proven problem solver in a manufacturing environment with test development engineering background.
• History of developing test processes and procedures.
• Demonstrated ability to develop and maintain high quality work.
• Position requires excellent oral and written communication skills, involving dialog with worldwide VFI colleagues and CM partners.
• In-depth understanding of electronic products Design, Engineering, Manufacturing, and Manufacturing Test processes.
• Good knowledge of DFT principles and troubleshooting skills.
• Creative with can-do attitude and the ability to get results.
