Within BR&T’s Mission System Technologies (MST) organization, Boeing’s Advanced Computing Technology (ACT) team performs innovation, development and maturation of Advanced Computing and its associated subordinate technologies.
Boeing Research and Technology is looking for a Senior Modeling and Simulation Systems Engineer Lead based in El Segundo, CA or Huntington Beach, CA. This position will lead modeling, simulation, and emulation efforts that encompass a wide variety of component, subsystem and system level elements that are tied to advanced research and development activities.
Position Responsibilities:

Lead and support modeling, simulation, and emulation efforts for technologies under research & development

Leading/planning software and firmware development tasks including detailed design, coding, and unit/integration/functional/system testing of customer desired features/user stories, ensuring successful achievement of acceptance criteria.

Lead and coordinate modeling with individual team members and subject matter experts across Boeing and its teammate/partners

Lead team which will integrate individual models into larger model set for component and larger subsystem development areas

Lead team which will incorporate measured data from developmental testing of products and subsystems in the laboratory into modeling environment

Lead team to define products to meet system engineering needs to support trades, design synthesis, and verification

Lead and/or support complex architecture trade studies & system/subsystem level integration & validation

Lead team which will develop and manage data flow through models and simulations, create scripts and connecting code where applicable

Lead team which will summarize model and simulation activities for regular design integration timelines and end customer reports including plans to mature models based on demonstration observables

Work on world class, next generation disruptive technologies across the enterprise and at business partners and teammate facilities to develop, document, analyze, and test operational, functional, and environmental requirements of developed research systems

Provide high impact, creative solutions to complex technical problems

Work independently, as part of a team environment, and lead a team

Provide critical support and independent review of the work of teammates
This position requires an active U.S. Top Secret / SCI Security Clearance (U.S. Citizenship Required). (A U.S. Security Clearance that has been active in the past 24 months is considered active)
Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience):
-
Bachelor of Science degree from an accredited course of study in engineering, engineering technology (includes manufacturing engineering technology), chemistry, physics, mathematics, data science, or computer science

Experience in new technology or product/capability development
-
5+ years of experience in leading system design, modeling, simulation, verification and validation
-
Effectively communicate with technical and non-technical personnel at all organization levels including suppliers and customers
-
Demonstrated leadership for driving issue resolution and mitigating technical risk
-
Familiarity with Agile or SAFe practices, including daily standup, User Stories, Sprints, and Release Planning
Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience):

Experience in working in an agile model based system engineering environment
-
Education/experience in 1 or more of the following: Cameo, DOORS, SysML, Department of Defense Architecture Framework (DoDAF)

Experience with Git
-
Adjudicated Counter Intelligence scope polygraph completed within the last 5 years
