- Author mission and objective logic in encounters to make the level's end-to-end experience flow properly with the rest of the game.
- Serve as product owner for a playable space, helping to connect disciplines and ensure the level's stability and quality.
- Collaborate with environment art to take a space from blockout to final art.
- Collaborate with engineering to standup new objectives and scripted events, identify issues, and work with stakeholders to get them working.
- Collaborate with combat design to implement new enemy types, integrate them into existing spawn groups, and tune the difficulty of encounters.
- Playtest other designers' levels, offer critical feedback, and advocate for the best version of the game.
- Own documentation of new features or suites of content as needs emerge.
Qualifications:
- 5+ years of experience in the game industry as a level designer or mission designer
- Experience working in the tactics space
- Experience working in Unreal 5 and Blueprints
- Experience with combat encounter composition, combat enemy roles, and how to leverage enemy behavior
- Understanding of level design practices, techniques, and space composition
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
Nice to See:
- Shipped titles or other experience in the tactical genre
- Shipped titles or other experience using Unreal 5
- Shipped titles or other experience working in the Star Wars universe
