Job Description
We're looking for an accomplished media planner with extensive experience across both agency and client-side roles, you have a proven track record of developing and executing media strategies that optimise budget allocation and maximise performance across multiple channels and customer stages.
You'll bring a strategic mindset and a data-driven approach, ensuring media investments deliver measurable results. Your expertise spans the full marketing funnel, with a deep understanding of multi-channel media strategies and advanced performance measurement frameworks.
This is an individual contributor role, so you excel at influencing and driving impact through others. You collaborate seamlessly with media agencies, in-house marketing teams, and key partner functions like analytics and finance to ensure alignment and efficiency. With a strong results-driven mindset and a passion for innovation, you consistently raise the bar for media excellence
Core Responsibilities:
- Lead the annual and quarterly media planning process, ensuring media objectives and budget allocations are clearly defined across brand, acquisition, and retention
- Own media contract negotiations & quarterly media audits ensuring contracted agreements are met and media value is unlocked
- Act as Gousto’s in-house media expert, supporting channel owners on media effectiveness reports, best-in-class buying practices and measurement frameworks.
- Build and strengthen relationships with key media partners (e.g., Google, Meta, TikTok, Sky), challenging them to deliver innovative and effective solutions, while bringing in media best practices to refine our approach
- Set a clear scope of work for econometrics and translate econometrics reports into clear, actionable insights, that can be shared and understood internally to shape our approach
- Champion the adoption of new media technologies and tools, streamlining planning, execution, and reporting processes
- Monitor and assess emerging media trends and platforms, ensuring our strategies remain innovative, competitive, and effective
- Budget Management & Oversight - ensure full transparency on total media spend, payment schedules, and creditor obligations
Who You Are:
- An expert in media strategy, with time spent on both agency and client sides
- Well versed at cross full-funnel marketing, including offline and deep digital knowledge
- Experienced in crafting holistic media strategies that deliver measurable results in dynamic, high-growth digital environments
- A strong commercial thinker and able to connect your role to the bigger picture and company strategies
- Highly analytical, you leverage data to continuously inform and refine strategies, with hands-on experience using tools like Google Analytics, DSPs, and ad servers, MMM and MTA frameworks
- Driven leader who excels at impact through others, collaborating effectively to align efforts and maximise media outcomes
- An exceptional communicator, enabling you to influence senior stakeholders and present complex ideas clearly and effectively
