We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Mechanical Engineer to join our innovative team. The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in the design, development, and optimization of cutting-edge electrical products and appliances. Key Responsibilities:
- Lead the development of mechanical components for electrical products and accessories from concept to production.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including electrical engineers, product managers, and manufacturing teams, to ensure seamless integration of design elements.
- Create detailed 3D models, engineering drawings, and technical documentation using CAD software.
- Perform simulations and analyses to ensure product performance, safety, and compliance with industry standards.
- Oversee prototype development and testing, incorporating feedback to refine designs.
- Evaluate and select materials and manufacturing processes to optimize cost, quality, and sustainability.
- Troubleshoot and resolve mechanical design issues during the development and production phases.
- Stay updated on industry trends, technologies, and best practices to contribute to continuous improvement.
- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field.
- Minimum of 7 years of professional experience in mechanical design for electrical products or appliances.
- Proficiency in CAD software (preferably Solidworks).
- Proficiency in generating 2D drawing from 3D solid models.
- Knowledgeable in performing structural and dynamic simulations and interpreting simulation results.
- Strong knowledge of design for manufacturability and assembly of plastic parts and sheet metal components.
- Capable of performing engineering analyses (e.g. Tolerance Stack Analysis, DFMEA, RCA, etc) to ensure product performance, identifying issues and fixing them.
- Strong knowledge of materials, manufacturing processes, and ASNZS standards relevant to the electrical industry.
- Knowledgeable in Design of Experiments to properly validate design concepts.
- Proven experience in designing for mass production and familiarity with quality control processes.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
- Strong communication and teamwork abilities.
- Demonstrated ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines.
