Senior Mechanical Engineer

We’re looking for an experienced Mechanical Engineer to join our R&D team, focusing on creating cutting-edge electro-mechanical smart products. What we're looking for

We’re looking for a versatile, Senior Mechanical Engineer who thrives in leading cross-functional product development, driving projects from concept to production with high standards and attention to detail. You are passionate about high-end design and excel at the intersection of cutting-edge manufacturing technologies and physical product innovation.

Expertise and experience

• 5+ years of experience in CAD software (preferably SolidWorks or Onshape).
• Proven experience developing products with high user-facing requirements and exacting standards.
• Strong background in preparing production files for metal machining, 3D printing, injection molding, and wood machining/carpentry.
• Hands-on expertise designing mechanical-electrical (ME-EE) integrated systems in collaboration with electrical engineers.
• Familiarity with high-volume production environments and supporting products for mass production, including fixtures, assembly lines, and product testing.
• Exceptional understanding of cost drivers in mass production, with the ability to balance design ambition and cost efficiency while engaging stakeholders to align on goals.

Leadership and Execution Skills:

• A proven track record of leading cross-functional product development, ensuring alignment across stakeholders, meeting timelines, and addressing challenges proactively.
• The ability to translate ideas into tangible mass-market products, driving 0-to-1 product development with a focus on high-end, user-centric designs.
• Experience managing detailed project plans and delivering quality outcomes on time, with full accountability for product success.
• Agility to think strategically while executing tactically, balancing creativity with efficiency.

What You’ll Do

Lead Product Development:

• Take ownership of the end-to-end product development process, from concept to mass production.
• Coordinate with all relevant stakeholders, including design, engineering, sourcing, and operations teams, to ensure alignment on requirements, timelines, and goals.
• Drive the creation of detailed project plans, set realistic timelines, and track progress to meet deadlines without compromising quality.

Define & Design:

• Collaborate with stakeholders to gather and define physical product requirements.
• Create precise 3D models and 2D production drawings to clearly communicate design intent.

Prototype & Experiment:

• Utilize our workshop to build prototypes, tools, and test rigs that push innovation forward.
• Source materials for R&D, working with global suppliers to ensure feasibility and quality.
• Plan and execute experiments, analyze results, and present actionable insights to improve designs and processes.

Project & Team Leadership:

• Serve as the central point of accountability for the project, ensuring team alignment and addressing roadblocks proactively.
• Maintain clear communication with all stakeholders, facilitating collaboration and decision-making.
• Own the Bill of Materials (BOM) and all associated Cost of Goods Sold (COGs), ensuring cost-effective and scalable solutions.

Production Transition:

• Partner closely with Sourcing and Operations teams to guarantee production-readiness and a seamless transition to manufacturing.
• Collaborate with suppliers to oversee the mass production of high-end products, addressing challenges as they arise.

Additional Details

• This is a full-time role based in our Tel Aviv office.
• Travel: You should be willing and able to travel to China and the USA 3-6 times per year.
