Job Description
Who You’ll Work With
We are seeking candidates who take pride in driving and sustaining product development through manufacturing. As an Arista Mechanical Design Verification Test Engineer, you will engage with Product Teams, Mechanical / Product Design, Test Labs, CM Partners, and other business functions. You will get an opportunity to work with some of the smartest engineering and technical leaders in the industry.
What You’ll Do
- Participate in product teams of engineers involved in specification, design, development, and testing of hardware products.
- Develop and implement test plans using statistical principles as well as Arista’s corporate MDVT specification in accordance with industry standards.
- Support the development of new products executing environmental test qualification, mechanical characterization (i.e. shock, vibe, acoustic, halt etc.) utilizing various testing tools & equipment.
- Evaluate technical readiness, create detailed technical documentation & test reports prior to release to manufacturing.
- Interface/engage with Hardware & Mechanical Engineering, External Labs, and Program Management teams
- Develop and improve mechanical test processes and actively enhance efficiency, consistency, cost avoidance, and internal customer satisfaction
- Excellent communication skills, proactiveness and self-initiative.
Qualifications
- 5-7+ years of experience in Mechanical Design and/or Test Engineering
- Solid understanding of related industry standards e.g. ETSI, IEC, MIL810, NEBS etc.
- BS or MS Mechanical Engineering
- Familiarity with test fixture design for complex products for mechanical mounting with expertise in utilizing ProE/Creo CAD tools.
- Solid knowledge in networking products related to switching and data centers
- Familiarity with liquid cooling is a plus.
- Ability to lift about 30-40 lbs. product during testing
Compensation Information
The new hire base pay for this role has a pay range of $120,000 to $145,000.
Arista offers different pay ranges based on work location, so that we can offer consistent and competitive pay appropriate to the market. The actual base pay offered will be based on a wide range of factors, including skills, qualifications, relevant experience, and work location.
The pay range provided reflects base pay only and in addition certain roles may also be eligible for discretionary Arista bonuses and equity. Employees in Sales roles are eligible to participate in Arista’s Sales Incentive Plan, which pays commissions calculated as a percentage of eligible sales. US-based employees are also entitled to benefits including medical, dental, vision, wellbeing, tax savings and income protection.
