We are looking for a Senior Mechanical Design Engineer to join our team developing cutting edge test products for the latest fixed and wireless communication systems. You will be working on mechanical development of components and sub-systems from concept through to release for manufacture, including supporting products in manufacture.
Our main components typically include sheet metal housings, CNC machined shielding, custom cables, labels, PCB assemblies and fittings.

Duties & Responsibilities:

This job can be based in either Eningen (Reutlingen) or in Saint-Étienne (Auvergne-Rhône-Alpes).

·       Designing and producing manufacturing drawings using GD&T techniques. (Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerance).

·       3D printing and additive manufacturing for prototyping.

·       Product development from concept to launch.

·       Strong collaboration including cross-functionally, with the ability to establish and maintain effective relationships across all levels.

·       Solving complex issues using in-depth evaluation methods and techniques.

Pre-Requisites / Skills / Experience Requirements:

 

·       Bachelor’s Degree or HNC in Mechanical Engineering or a closely related subject covering mechanical engineering and design.

·       Fluency in English and German. Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written in both languages.

·       Good working knowledge of FLOEFD or similar MCAD thermal simulation package.

·       Good working knowledge of CREO and/or SolidWorks or any similar MCAD package including stress analysis.

·       Tolerance stack-up analysis to meet the dimensional objectives of the design.

·       Aptitude to learn and apply tools to ensure designs are robust, reliable and optimized for production.

·       Ability to assess and identify the most cost-effective solution in all design work.

·       Accustomed to following the principles of good engineering practice with a high level of accuracy and attention to detail.

·       Self-motivated with the ability to work in a pressurized environment with minimum supervision.

·       Ability to influence senior stakeholders.

·       The ability to work within multiple and/or complex projects simultaneously in a deadline-driven environment.

·       Ability to mentor and coach the same or junior levels.

·       Contributes to strategic decision-making.
