Be part of our talented and growing team! We are currently looking for a Senior Manager, Tax, to join our team reporting to the Vice President, Finance Operations. This is a temporary 9 month contract role.
As a Senior Manager, Tax you will work on sales tax, withholding tax and income tax functions. You will be responsible for ensuring tax compliance with tax authorities (Sales, Withholding and Income Tax) and coordinating and providing formation to respond to tax audit requests.

WHAT WILL YOU WORK ON?
Income Tax Compliance:
- Income Tax filing and quarterly provisioning: This involves preparing provisions and income tax returns (Corporations and Trusts) . The person would need to work with EY for the filings
- Internal Procedures: Ensuring compliance with tax laws and managing internal procedures related to tax compliance.
- Coordination and Information Provision: Coordinating and providing information to respond to tax audit requests
- Representation: Assisting with additional returns, elections, tax planning, and representation before taxing authorities
Sales Tax Compliance:
- Indirect Tax Compliance: This includes ensuring compliance with sales tax regulations, managing internal procedures related to indirect tax compliance, and understanding the tax status of revenue (e.g., taxable/non-taxable supplies and recovery of input tax credits)
- Preparation of Returns and Remittances: Preparing and filing GST/HST/QST/PST returns and supporting working papers
- Correspondence and Audits: Managing indirect tax correspondence with tax advisors, auditors, and tax authorities, including finalized, ongoing, and pending indirect tax audits or rulings
- Automation and Efficiency: Utilizing automation to simplify compliance, reduce risks, and improve efficiency in managing sales tax compliance
WHO ARE WE LOOKING FOR
- Undergraduate degree in Finance or Accounting and a CPA designation
- 10+ years’ experience with similar responsibilities
- Minimum 4 years of experience in the Financial Services industry
- Experience working in a national organization
- Broad and deep understanding of accounting principles (IFRS), especially relating to financial institutions
- Strong quantitative/analytical skills
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills with a strong attention to details
- Must be able to address multiple issues in a high paced/high pressure rapidly changing environment
