The base salary range for this position is dependent upon experience and location, ranging from $ 138,657 to $173,322 plus bonus .
Job Summary
The Senior Manager of Strategic Planning plays a vital role in supporting the Director in developing and executing the long-term vision for the electric system. They will lead a team of planners and analysts to identify emerging trends, assess potential risks and opportunities, and develop strategic recommendations that align with the utility's overall business objectives and regulatory requirements.
Key Responsibilities

Strategic Analysis: Conduct in-depth research and analysis of industry trends, emerging technologies, regulatory landscape, and competitive environment to inform strategic planning decisions.

Scenario Planning: Develop and evaluate various future scenarios to assess their impact on the electric system and identify potential risks and opportunities for the utility.

Strategic Recommendations: Develop and present strategic recommendations to senior leadership, providing data-driven insights and actionable plans to address emerging challenges and capitalize on opportunities.

Cross-Functional Collaboration: Collaborate with other departments, such as engineering, operations, customer service, and regulatory affairs, to ensure alignment of strategic plans and effective implementation.

Performance Tracking: Monitor and evaluate the progress of strategic initiatives, identifying any deviations from the plan and recommending corrective actions as needed.

Team Leadership: Lead and mentor a team of planners and analysts, providing guidance, support, and development opportunities to ensure their success.

Thought Leadership: Stay abreast of emerging trends and best practices in strategic planning, contribute to industry discussions, and advocate for policies that support the utility's long-term objectives.
Required Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Engineering or a related field.

Minimum of 10 years of experience in system planning, strategic planning, program development, operational excellence, or related roles within the energy or utilities industry.

Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to synthesize complex information and translate it into actionable strategies.

Excellent communication and presentation skills, with the ability to effectively articulate complex concepts to various stakeholders.

Proven leadership and collaboration skills, with the ability to influence cross-functional teams and drive strategic initiatives.

Knowledge of industry regulations, trends, and emerging technologies in the energy and utilities sector.

Proficiency in data analytics tools and techniques for identifying trends and insights.

Familiarity with project management methodologies and tools.

Proven capability of delivering against multiple targets.
