POSITION OVERVIEW 

The Sr Manager Master Data Management EMEA is responsible for the MDM function management, having oversight and execution responsibility on the set up and the execution of the Maesa EMEA Master Data Management (MDM) governance, processes, and team, in charge of the creation and the maintenance of the Master Data objects under the MDM function responsibility.

The position also acts as operating tactical execution for master data management operations and duties under the perimeter of the MDM team.

Regarding the MDM function management perspective, one key aspect of the role is to lead and executes the implementation of process and tools, enabling to establish a relevant MDM governance, embedding the cross functional process and technical solutions for creating, maintaining, and validating master data management objects for the various business requirements, (specifications, materials, products, customers, financials, etc).

In this domain, the position acts with a project management approach, in the context of Maesa being at stage of development to for reach an MDM governance, process, and tool at relevant industry standards.


The other key aspect of the role is to lead and manage the MDM team, ensure the qualitative and efficient execution of the operations and duties relating to MDM, as well as foster and develop capabilities and operational excellence for MDM.
Regarding the operational tactical dimension, as MDM expert the position plays a pivotal role in gathering and processing the product specifications across functional data owners, such as Operations (Procurement, Supply Chain, Customer Service & Logistics, Quality, Regulatory R&D(, New Product Development (NPD), Project Managers, Sales, or Finance for example.


The primary focus will be on assisting in the seamless set-up of new products and diligently following up on any product changes that may occur.


The position has also an important change management dimension, as the Sr Manager Master Data Management EMEA will contribute to the robust establishment and effectiveness of the execution of the defined Process, Standards, Policy & Procedure within the MDM community, composed by the cross functional Master Data Owners, the Master Data requesters, Approvers, and Consumers, and of course the Master Data Management Team.
The role will also be also responsible to establish a Master Data inventory and to ensure accuracy and regular update of it with the support of the MDM community and the different Data Owners. This inventory will be the central place to find Maesa’s Master Data information such as Data Model, attribute definition, KPI definition and Reference Data content.


To guarantee Maesa’s Data Quality, the Sr Manager Master Data Management EMEA will be responsible to control the adherence of the defined Maesa Master Data Standards along the Master Data Lifecycle. In collaboration with the MDM community, he will put in place the Master Data Quality monitoring and coordinate proactive and corrective maintenance activities in case of data issue.


The dimension of continuous improvement is also important, promoting MDM and providing guidance and always trying to fix data issues at the source by proposing process and Standards update, Data Quality rules and technologic evolution.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  1. Lead the implementation and update of the MDM governance, processes, and technical solution.
  2. Ensures the MDM process and organization deliver effective and qualitative Master Data input into IT systems according to the various defined area of business responsibility.
  3. Manage the MDM EMEA team, ensuring seamless and qualitative MDM execution.
  4. Coordinate the execution of the MDM Processes with the business functions and IT function partner.
  5. Ensure that Master data objects do follow the good Master Data Process practices such as Request, Approval, Data collection, Validation and System Entry Maintenance and Distribution.
  6. Act as reference resource for critical Master Data entities and as escalation point for any Data Governance issues.
  7. Integration: Ensure the comprehensive integration of production information into the ERP systems, maintaining a cohesive and accurate representation of data.
  8. Master Data Creation & Maintenance: Take charge of the creation & maintenance of all master data, incl. item codes, component codes, Bill of Materials (BOMs), and EAN codes, within the EMEA ERP systems.
  9. Internal Stakeholder Management: Engage in productive internal exchanges with cross-functional teams, particularly NPD, project managers, and supply planners, to streamline Master Data-related processes.
  10. Documentation Expertise: Compile and distribute Finished Goods Specification Sheets, fostering clear communication and collaboration with Quality, NPD, and Customer Service teams.
  11. Regulatory Compliance Management: Prepare and submit required data for Plastic Audit and Green Dot reports specific to the Vienna business, ensuring compliance with regulatory standards.
  12. Analytical Insights: Provide valuable insights to the organization by preparing additional analyses and reports related to Master Data, contributing to data-driven decision-making.
  13. Promote the Master Data Management Strategy within Maesa with continuous improvement.
  14. Understand and build collaborative relationships with key cross functional stakeholders engaged into the MDM discipline, such as Operations, NPD, Sales Finance, etc.
  15. Ensure the accuracy of the Master Data inventory and related documentation with the support of the MDM community.
  16. Communicate all Master Data Management updates with the MDM community.

QUALIFICATIONS AND REQUIREMENTS 

  • Bachelor's degree in relevant field, and/or other equivalent education certification.
  • MDM related certifications are an asset (CDMP, DGSP, or similar).
  • Project Management education and certification is an asset
  • English written and spoken
  • Any other language is an asset, specifically French and German
  • 8+ years of experience in roles or functions linked to Business Master Data Management, Governance, and Processes execution.
  • 5+ years of experience in Team lead and management roles
  • Relevant business and industry triggering MDM experience, (Dermo Cosmetic industry experience is an asset).
  • Strong Knowledge and on-hands experience of ERP (any brand/model) and associated business applications requirements, with a focus on relevant MDM areas associated to Material, Supplier, Customer, and Finance Master Data Objects.
  • Experience in Data Quality, from Data Quality rules to set at source to Data Quality monitoring to drive proactive and corrective maintenance activities.
  • Understanding the functional as well as business environment, and able to have in-depth comprehension of their operational requirements in perspective of ERP system related functionalities and associated master data management dimension.
  • Good communicator, able to elaborate clearly and simply on complex topics, navigating between business-oriented approaches and system-oriented approaches, and explain either macro concept or detailed set up.
  • Be a team player, while taking leadership role under the cross-cultural work environment.
  • Able to understand Maesa’s business processes (such as supply chain, order to cash, record to report…) and their associated Master Data requirements to set and achieve clear Data Quality objectives.
  • Able to transform data issues in opportunities targeting excellence in Master Data Management
  • Cross-Cultural Resourcefulness-Ability and Agility to work in a complex matrix environment whilst respecting cultural differences.
