The salary range for this position is dependent upon experience, ranging from $132,055.20 to $181,575.

Job Summary

  • This role oversees the activities of all (circa 30) Software applications used by E&G Operations, Engineering and Asset Management, Planning and Operational Smart grids within the Networks Business.  The role coordinates support activities, prioritizes tasks, supports projects and communicates task status with IT Management and the key stakeholders.
  • The role will work collaboratively with the different Business Areas Management team and the IT Leadership team in collating, analyzing, prioritizing and planning various activities.
  • Lead a team of 3-6 direct reports and 10-20 indirect reports in delivering an excellent service to the different Networks Area.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develops, maintains, and implements the Geographic Information System (GIS) Roadmap.
  • Understands business processes and manages business relationships.  Conduct governance meetings with business leads and reviews Roadmap/Portfolio, Maintenance Service Requests and SLA adherence.
  • Responsible for GIS deployments supporting the Network Business for NY, ME, CT, and MA companies.
  • Works collaboratively with the Operational Smart Grids, Electric and Gas Operations, Engineering and IT management teams in the development and maintenance of business applications/solutions, ensuring IT standards are followed.
  • Responsible to drive the annual demand process (PDS) with Operational Smart Grids.  Work collaboratively with the Business to analyze, characterize and prioritize projects, aligned to both Business and IT Strategies.
  • Responsible to manage all the applications maintenance and support requests for Operational Smart Grids and GIS.  Work collaboratively with the Business to analyze, characterize and prioritize the Backlog and monitors the progress of these requests on a regularly basis. 
  • Manage and maintain the IT Application Inventory for Customer Services, looking for Efficiency, Integration/Consolidation and Evolution/Transformation.
  • Actively participates in IT strategic planning and other IT leadership processes as required.
  • Ensure effective lines of communication between various areas, processes and members are established and maintained.  Engaging with IOC team member to ensure required resources are allocated to the different applications projects.
  • Leads a team of internal and external staff assigned to their area.
  • Responsible for the staff performance evaluation process for direct reports, plus guidance and feedback for indirect reports.  Proactively assesses IT resource requirements for business area initiatives which includes skill set requirements and training needs.
  • Manages and enforces IT standards, processes, policies and methodologies.
  • Handles task prioritization, task assignment and task status reporting.
  • Manages budge tan reports on budget variances.
  • Subject Matter Expert in GIS SW Solutions (specialist skill set).  Manager is also an expert and should have the ability to not only recommend and implement technical solutions but also to be able to troubleshoot any issues.
  • Provide escalated support 24/7 as needed for critical applications that are customer facing and supporting storm processes.

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Information Systems, or other related field.
  • Master’s Degree (preferred)
  • Experience of support role in business area of IT environment, including two years of more in a leadership role.
  • More than 10 years of related experience.
  • Functional and Technical experience ESRI, minimum 5 years GIS.
  • Experience with large computer systems, form either a technical support position or a system administrator position.
  • Experience with Application Lifecycle Management.
  • Project leadership and supervisory experience.
