Job Description
Checkout.com is looking for a Senior Manager of Financial Control – Brazil to join our growing Finance team reporting to the Senior Director of Financial and Management reporting.
This is a very exciting opportunity for a finance professional to join a rapidly expanding global company. The role is in a multi layered global finance team and will be a central point for finance for the expansion in Brazil.
The ideal candidate will be a great leader with a willingness to be hands-on, someone that is self-motivated with excellent communication skills. You'll be the first Financial Controller and Accounting hire for Checkout in Brazil and join a growing global financial controller team that is building a more controlled and best in class environment. The role owns and prepares the entities management accounts, financial information for regulatory filings and exams, play a central role in regional financial audits and supports other functions across Checkout to ensure all entities remain compliant.
Remit and responsibilities:

Be the first person in the Brazil financial control team, being responsible to grow the team, find and manage long term outsource providers as required

Responsibility for the monthly accounting and regulatory reporting for legal entities in Brazil.

Responsible for IFRS financial reporting of the entities, reporting to the corporate accounting function in the UK.

Alongside numerous teams, including tax, treasury and compliance ensure the entities remain compliant with all local regulations

Playing a key role interacting with local regulators and internal teams for acquiring Brazil license.

Playing a significant role in executing our Brazil strategy with our local team, partnering closely with our legal, product and treasury teams.

Own the creation of the annual financial statements and the audit therein for the Brazil entities

Own the LATAM corporate cash flow management processes to ensure sufficient funding is available to meet business needs

Be the Financial Control point of contact for further expansion in the LATAM region

Managing external stakeholders such as regulators, auditors and service providers

Developing and documenting internal processes and procedures

Participate in local and global ad hoc projects as necessary
Qualifications
Successful candidates will bring a strong accounting and financial control background.

Fluent in English and Portuguese

8+ years of Accounting experience in an international set-up

Deep experience delivering financial and regulatory reporting and delivering audits across multiple jurisdictions

Experience working in a fast growing financial services multinational company including leading accounting and audit activities

Excellent stakeholder manager, comfortable being a leader in finance and liaising with numerous stakeholders across Checkout and external providers

Excellent leadership, interpersonal and communication skills

Highly motivated and able to work towards tight deadlines on multiple projects in a fast-paced work environment

Have a Certificado do Registro de Contabilidade and be eligible for registration with the Brazil Central Bank

Demonstrate a strong understanding of the accounting and financial regulatory requirements in Brazil

Knowledge of (or experience in) the Brazilian payments or financial services industries
