Role Overview:
As Senior Manager, Finance Business Partner you will support Studio Leadership, playing a pivotal role in driving financial performance, providing key insights and supporting business decisions. You will collaborate closely with senior management, operational teams, and other partners within the Finance organisation to deliver financial analysis, forecasting, and reporting that aligns with the company’s objectives.
The position will report to Director, Studio Finance Business Partnering and can be based virtually or in one of the office locations of PlayStation Studios, preferably in London, UK or The Netherlands, Amsterdam. A European time zone is preferred due to the location of key stakeholders however the role will also involve working with stakeholder on US West Coast.
Responsibilities:
- Lead FP&A processes for a number of Studios including Opex budgeting, forecasting, and long-term planning ensuring alignment with overall business goals.
- Manage Performance Management process on behalf of Production Heads, providing commentary for Quarterly Business Reviews and preparing/presenting regular financial reports, variance analysis, and profitability assessments to Senior Management.
- Act as advisor to the Head of Production, providing financial insights to support key business decisions.
- Collaborate with Revenue Forecasting team to populate and maintain finance models to support evaluation of investment and present business cases at Greenlight meetings.
- Work with Value Optimization team on initiatives to improve operational efficiency and profitability based on financial analysis.
- Own and maintain title Opex Trackers, providing transparency on title cost to Studio Business Group leadership.
- Manage planning and execution of capitalisation of title development cost, working with relevant team members to obtain relevant evidence and approvals.
- Build strong relationships with internal stakeholders across studio, operations, finance and other central groups to align financial objectives with operational goals.
- Participate in cross-functional meetings, providing financial insight to influence strategic decisions.
- Identify and mitigate risks that could impact studios’ performance and profitability.
Qualifications & Skills:
- 8-10+ years of performance management, finance planning and analysis experience.
- Experience and deep understanding of the gaming industry with a focus towards Live Service and mobile gaming.
- Appreciation of the challenges and dynamics of operating a performance framework.
- Able to demonstrate strong analytical skills, and the ability to influence strategic outcomes.
- Self-starter, showing initiative and ability to work independently.
- Ability and willingness to do detailed work and complex financial analysis.
- Strong communication and presentation skills.
- Strong data analysis and financial modeling skills.
- Proficiency in Excel and PowerPoint.
- Strong work ethic and confidentiality a must.
- Ability to work collaboratively in cross functional teams.
- Proven ability to manage multiple projects, working through uncertainty under various time constraints.
Desired Skills:
- BA/BS in business, strategy, finance, economics or related field; Accounting designation or MBA is preferred.
