Senior Manager for Core Network Operations – Aeris Communications

Aeris is expanding its global service operations and support center in Romania. This is where you come in. As the Manager for Core Network Operations, you will assure that Aeris’ partners are able to reliably deliver value to their Enterprise customers through the Aeris platform so that they can leverage the full potential of our service offerings.

Key Responsibilities
- Team Leadership & Management:
- Lead, mentor, and manage a team of network engineers and technicians.
- Conduct performance reviews, provide training, and guide career development for team members.
- Foster a collaborative and high-performing team culture.
- Network Operations Oversight:
- Oversee the daily operations of the IoT network platform, ensuring optimal performance through capacity management-, security management-, and vendor management functions.
- Proactively identify and implement performance optimization strategies.
- Monitor network KPIs and SLAs to ensure consistent performance.
- Work with vendors to ensure optimal platform performance
- Lead and manage network deployment, expansion, and upgrade projects.
- Manage L3 support including vulnerability management
- Coordinate resources, set timelines, and ensure timely delivery within budget.
- Work closely with the engineering and architecture teams to implement innovative solutions.
- Operational Process Management:
- Develop and refine processes for incident, problem, and change management based on industry best practices (ITIL, ISO).
- Ensure proper documentation of network configurations, policies, and operational procedures.
- Implement automation tools to improve operational efficiency and minimize manual intervention.
Qualifications & Skills
- Education:
- Bachelor's or Master’s degree in Telecommunications, Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or related field.
- Experience:
- 10+ years of experience in network operations, preferably in the telecom industry.
- 5+ years of experience in a leadership or managerial role.
- Proven experience with 2G/3G/4G telecommunications technologies
- Experience with IoT connectivity
- Technical Skills:
- Expertise in network protocols (TCP/IP, SS7, Diameter, GTP etc.), routing, and switching technologies.
- Familiarity with network monitoring and management tools
- Knowledge of cloud networking, virtualization, and automation
- Soft Skills:
- Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to make decisions under pressure.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Leadership and team management abilities.
Certifications (Preferred)
- ITIL Foundation certification or equivalent.
- Cisco Certified Network Professional (CCNP) or Cisco Certified Internetwork Expert (CCIE).
- Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP) is a plus.
