ROLE SUMMARY
The I&I Commercial Development Team works with our cross-functional colleagues to strengthen and advance our early development portfolio. The I&I Senior Manager will report to the I&I Commercial Development Team lead but will partner with Senior Directors / Directors to support programs across multiple I&I therapeutic areas, with an initial focus on respiratory and dermatology. The colleague will be expected to lead and synthesize results from various insights & analytics workstreams to provide holistic commercial input into commercial assessments and drug development plans as we strive to deliver breakthroughs to patients. This includes representing Commercial Strategy and Innovation (CSI) interests in key cross-functional workstreams and effectively partnering with cross-functional teams spanning PRD (including Medical), Regulatory, Business Development, and Commercial (including Competitive Intelligence, GAV, Value & Evidence, Business Assessment, Portfolio Decision & Analysis, and Global and US Marketing) as appropriate to inform Commercial work.
ROLE RESPONSIBILITIES
The Senior Manager Commercial Development, I&I is a key team member on I&I programs, working cross-functionally and collaboratively to deliver strong commercial assessments and input to clinical development plans.
This individual is a dynamic team player and a self-starter, who has knowledge of commercial development, market and data analysis, commercial opportunity assessments, business development, and influencing across a variety of settings and topics in the pharmaceutical or biopharmaceutical industry. The individual must have a proven ability to effectively manage multiple complex projects, influence stakeholders and collaborators without authority, network across the organization, and partner and communicate with many different functions all within a fast-moving, challenging and dynamic environment.
Specific responsibilities include but will not be limited to supporting the following:
- Support robust strategic and commercial evaluation to support Commercial readiness reviews, pivotal prep funding, and DP3 governance decisions for early-stage assets
- Support development of target product profiles and / or product concepts
- Provide commercial and strategic guidance to early-asset medicine teams on development strategies, clinical study designs and geographic footprints to ensure assets are developed into commercially viable, differentiated products
- Provide leadership and guidance on revenue forecasts, primary market research projects, and secondary data analyses (including claims data analyses)
- Partner with CI team to maintain an up-to-date view of the competitive landscapes for multiple respiratory and dermatology indications and identify key strategic implications of new competitor data for related programs
- Synthesize results from multiple insights and analytics workstreams to support decision-making spanning commercial assessments to clinical development plan decisions
- Communicate findings and recommendations effectively in both verbal and written form (including ability to develop senior-leadership level presentations)
- Forge strong working relationships with PRD/GAV/Medical/Commercial partners
- Support assessment, evaluation, and integration of Business Development deals as needed
- Support other I&I strategic initiatives as needed
- Develop and manage budgets diligently

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS
- BS/BA degree
- 6 years of experience working in the biopharmaceutical industry in commercial development, forecasting, market research and insights, competitive intelligence, data analytics, portfolio analytics, strategy, marketing and sales, and / or business development roles with increasing responsibilities, complexity and accountabilities
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
- MS/MBA with 5 years of experience or PhD/JD with 1 year of experience working in the biopharmaceutical industry in commercial development, forecasting, market research and insights, competitive intelligence, data analytics, portfolio analytics, strategy, marketing and sales, and / or business development roles with increasing responsibilities, complexity and accountabilities.
- Experience working in global markets such as the EU3, UK, China, or Japan
- Demonstrated strong strategic thinking skills, as evidenced by the ability to identify the right questions, identify alternative scenarios, articulate resulting implications, and develop recommendations for decision-making or action
- Demonstrated ability to understand and translate market and competitive dynamics into strategic implications
- Demonstrated ability to work with complex information and distill into a framework that helps facilitate decision making
- Demonstrated project leadership, managing workstreams and small teams of cross-functional colleagues with varying backgrounds and skillsets
- Demonstrated ability to influence and collaborate with peers

The annual base salary for this position ranges from $120,800.00 to $201,400.00. In addition, this position is eligible for participation in Pfizer's Global Performance Plan with a bonus target of 17.5% of the base salary and eligibility to participate in our share based long term incentive program.
