Our unit is responsible for driving innovation within Mendix, as we work on cutting-edge technologies like Shopfloor connectivity or democratizing Generative AI solutions as part of our global R&D organization.
Our local team in Berlin develops innovative solutions so our customers can create smarter applications for shopfloor operators with a great end-user experience.
About the Role:
We are seeking an experienced and dynamic Senior Developer to join our growing team. This role is ideal for a passionate developer with expertise in TypeScript, JavaScript, React, and Node.js. The successful candidate will play a critical role in designing, building, and maintaining scalable web applications while mentoring and guiding junior team members to grow and excel.
Key Responsibilities:
- Design, develop, and maintain full-stack applications using TypeScript, JavaScript, React, and Node.js. Among other technologies like HTML5, CSS3, Java and C#.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including product managers and designers, to translate business requirements into technical solutions.
- Ensure high performance, scalability, and reliability of applications through best coding practices and robust testing.
- Conduct code reviews, provide constructive feedback, and uphold high standards for code quality.
- Mentor and coach junior developers, fostering a culture of continuous learning and improvement.
- Participate in architectural decision-making to guide the development of innovative solutions.
- Troubleshoot, debug, and optimize code to ensure optimal performance and user experience.
- Stay up-to-date with industry trends, emerging technologies, and best practices to drive innovation.
You’re the innovator we need if:
- You have proven experience as a Full-Stack Developer, with a strong portfolio of projects demonstrating expertise in TypeScript, JavaScript, React, and Node.js.
- Possess a strong understanding of modern web development tools, frameworks, and libraries.
- Have hands-on experience with RESTful APIs & microservices architecture.
- Are familiar with CI/CD pipelines, version control systems (e.g., Git), and agile methodologies.
- Have direct experience mentoring and coaching junior developers, with a track record of fostering professional growth.
- Are a strong problem-solver, with attention to detail, and the ability to handle complex technical challenges.
- Have excellent communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively in a team environment.
- BONUS: Experience with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP) and DevOps practices is a plus.
Additional requirements that would be helpful to have are:
- Experience with WebSockets.
- Experience with Electron and OS integration.
- Knowledge of developing accessible & responsive web pages.
- You know what product development life cycle requires, such as setting up a CI/CD pipeline with automated tests and (remote) observability.
