About the role
We’re seeking a Senior ITS Operations Engineer to help change how we travel.
In the role of Senior ITS Operations Engineer, your responsibilities include continual support, maintenance, and upgrades of the Intelligent Transportation Systems (ITS) crucial to our Projects space. Additionally, you will act as the 2IC offering support to the Lead ITS Operations Engineer.
You’ll be a key member of a highly motivated, dynamic 24x7 Intelligent Transport Systems (ITS) operations Project Support team, developing the brightest ideas and most inspired engineering into safer, more efficient, and more sustainable Transport Technology solutions, ensuring the smooth and safe flow of traffic over Sydney’s traffic corridors.
Day-to-day, you will:
Provide guidance and direction to sub-contractors and other teams, to resolve and escalate system faults, conduct maintenance and restoration works. You will also;

Administer and maintain a variety of specialised equipment including MS SQL databases and audio communication systems, PLC’s, traffic monitoring and industrial control Systems, CCTV and network equipment.

Collaborate internally with Transurban NSW project delivery and Assets teams with current and future ITS upgrade projects.

Act as an escalation point and provide 1st and 2nd level support to our Traffic Control and Operations Centres and ITS Operations Engineers– you’ll maintain applications, client operation systems, desktop equipment, server equipment, specialised systems and networked systems.

Ensure our ITS Systems are performing to their availability and reliability targets – you’ll monitor them closely and conduct maintenance and system upgrades to keep them operating at their best.
This role will suit someone with a curious mind and transferrable skills and experiences, including:

Previous experience working in a similar senior level electrical, electronic or IT system support role maintaining critical systems in a 24/7 environment.

TAFE, or equivalent trade qualification, in Systems, Electrical, Electronic, or an Engineering degree in Systems / Electrical / Electronic Engineering – so you know your stuff.

Highly analytical and incisive, you’ll spot issues and use your own ingenuity – and that of your team to troubleshoot.

A natural people person and avid problem solver you love communicating and collaborating to solve problems and achieve goals.

You’re organised, efficient and decisive in in prioritising the tasks that count, pressure doesn’t faze you.

You have a license to drive – you love everything about our roads after all.
