At Smith+Nephew we are looking for: Senior IT Project Manager, Group Functions
What will you be doing?
- Initiate projects and develop project charters. Commission projects & mobilize project teams.
- Create detailed project plans and assign project resources.
- Manage day-to-day execution of projects. Manage delivery of agreed work products ensuring delivery to time, scope, cost & quality.
- Execute risk and issue management processes, analyse the overall project performance and initiate mitigating actions where required.
- Execute project close-down. Create final report (including lessons learned). Manage transition plan into Operations.
- Effectively maintain the project scope through use of the agreed Change Control processes.
- Accountable for sprint & scrum planning and delivery ensuring the agile development team operates smoothly without any problems.
- Allow teams to self-organise and make changes quickly, in accordance with agile tools and techniques.
- Helping the team to reach consensus for what can be achieved during a specific period of time. Establish, measure & maintain sprint velocity using Use Cases, Stories and Story Points.
What will you need to be successful?
- Minimum of 8 years of senior IT project management experience in a global environment
- Expertise in project management, benefits management, contract management, and systems development
- Strong ability to plan and implement change effectively
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with a focus on building strong relationships
- Customer-focused approach with proven problem-resolution skills
- Ability to independently manage and prioritize multiple tasks efficiently
- Strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and proactive follow-up abilities
- Capable of working autonomously without daily supervision
