Emerging Tech is seeking a Senior Integration Engineer to support the Department of Veterans Affairs (VA) Electronic Health Record Modernization (EHRM) program. The ideal candidate will have the ability to navigate complex IT environments, ensuring seamless integration of cutting-edge healthcare solutions while collaborating with system integrators and key stakeholders.
What You'll Do:
- Provide technical leadership and oversight to ensure that interface and application development efforts align with VA requirements.
- Collaborate with system integrators, solution architects, and healthcare technology experts to design, develop, and implement EHR solutions.
- Lead interface and application integration efforts related to VistA, Cerner, and legacy VA systems
- Oversee a portfolio of interfaces, ensuring smooth transitions to sustainment
- Analyze and review technical artifacts, such as Interface Control Documents (ICDs)
- Support design, testing, and cutover planning from a technical perspective
- Engage with legacy system owners, business stakeholders, and Cerner
- Manage decommissioning plans for outdated interfaces
- Identify and escalate technical risks and challenges
- Develop technical roadmaps, strategies, and decision briefs for government leaders
- Contribute to process improvement and best practices in healthcare IT integration
What You'll Bring:
- 15+ years of professional experience in healthcare IT, EHR integration, or system architecture
- Strong knowledge of healthcare interoperability standards, including HL7, FHIR, and DICOM APIs
- Experience with radiation oncology treatment planning, dental imaging, and EHR configuration
- Hands-on expertise in interface development, system transitions, and middleware integration
- Ability to assess risks, create technical roadmaps, and drive strategic decision-making
- A Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Math, or a related field (or 8 additional years of experience in lieu of a degree)
Preferred Qualifications:
- Prior VA experience and familiarity with its systems
- Experience implementing Electronic Health Records (EHRs) in a government or large-scale healthcare environment.
Pay range: $60 - $67 per hour
