Job Summary:
The Senior Infrastructure Engineer at Lunar Energy will be instrumental in designing, deploying, and maintaining scalable and secure infrastructure solutions across on-premise and cloud environments. You will have deep expertise across network infrastructure, virtualization, storage systems, Windows and Linux administration, firewall and WiFi technologies, as well as data center operations. In addition to core infrastructure skills, experience with automation tools, Infrastructure as Code (IaC), and modern observability/monitoring solutions is also essential as part of this role.
This is a unique opportunity to make a significant impact and drive substantial change within a dynamic, scale-up environment as you will be reporting directly to the Head of IT Infrastructure.

On a given day at Lunar, you’ll likely…
- Administer and optimize Windows and Linux servers, virtualization platforms (VMware/Hyper-V), and enterprise storage systems (SAN/NAS).
- Configure, monitor, and troubleshoot enterprise networks including switches, routers, firewalls, VPNs, and wireless networks.
- Maintain data center equipment, cabling, rack layouts, power management, and documentation.
- Implement automation and IaC using tools such as Terraform, Ansible, and PowerShell/Bash.
- Support and improve infrastructure observability using monitoring/logging platforms (e.g., Prometheus, Grafana ,ELK, Datadog, etc.).
- Participate in disaster recovery and business continuity planning and testing.
- Collaborate with Engineering, Manufacturing, security, and software teams to ensure infrastructure supports organizational needs and security best practices.
- Provide Tier 2, Tier 3 escalation support for infrastructure-related incidents and problems.
Desired Skills:
- 5+ years of experience in infrastructure engineering or related roles.
- Strong knowledge of networking protocols, firewalls (e.g., Palo Alto, Fortinet), and WiFi technologies (e.g., Cisco Meraki, Aruba).
- Proficiency with virtualization platforms (VMware, Hyper-V) and storage systems.
- Advanced experience with both Windows Server and Linux (Ubuntu, RHEL, or CentOS).
- Solid hands-on experience with Terraform and Ansible in production environments.
- Experience deploying and managing monitoring/logging tools (e.g., ELK Stack, Grafana, Prometheus, Splunk).
- Strong scripting skills in PowerShell, Bash, or Python.
- Familiarity with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, or GCP) is a plus.
- Excellent documentation and communication skills.
- Certifications such as CCNA/CCNP, VMware VCP, RHCSA/RHCE, Microsoft Certified: Azure Administrator Associate, or similar.
- Experience with containerization and orchestration tools (e.g., Docker, Kubernetes).
- Knowledge of Zero Trust architecture, NAC, and endpoint security platforms.

Our Compensation Philosophy: Our goal is to ensure that all Lunar Energy employees are fairly compensated. Please note that the salary range information that follows is a good faith estimate for this position provided pursuant to the Pay Transparency for Pay Equity Act for California applicants. The salary range estimate for this position depending on level of experience is $150,000-$200,000 (USD)
