About the role
Passionate about infrastructure architecture? Your next role will evaluate, architect, design, integrate, and test network and systems infrastructure. We’re on the lookout for an enthusiastic and personable Senior Infrastructure Architect who can help support the ongoing development of Boldyn Networks’ Mobile Private Networks as a Service platform. Based in our New York office you will be responsible for the network design engineer and DevOps engineering.
What you’ll be doing
As part of the Technology team, you’ll be responsible for the architecture and performance of aspects of the company’s production mobile cellular private networks platform and is a subject matter expert in the areas of IP networking, Linux systems, 3GPP mobile packet core, and hyperconverged infrastructure. It’s a role with a lot of variety, and day-to-day, you’ll mainly be involved with:
- Work collaboratively with network architects and product development professionals within the Boldyn US Technology Office, Boldyn Global Technology Office, and across US-based deployment teams.
- Collaborates with RAN, Edge Platforms, Software Development, Data Science, and Packet Core Network architects and engineers to deliver a high-performance Private Networks Platform at the direction of the team Director
- Co-defines core and transport network, hyperconverged systems, and network automation system requirements as part of the continued development of the Private Networks platform. Establishes requirements for monitoring, management, and reporting on Core and Multi-Access Edge Compute (MEC) systems that help to assess and report the health and performance of the network
- Acts as the team’s Subject Matter Expert (SME) on Network Engineering, Linux Systems Engineering, Mobile Packet Core, and Hyperconvergence Platforms that interact and integrate with 4G LTE and 5G NR cellular private networks.
- Works in the lab and supports of First Office Applications (FOAs) in the field
- Assisting with the configurations and deployment of wireless testbed systems such as 4G LTE and 5G Integrated RAN, V-RAN, and Open-RAN systems in collaboration with team members and supporting partners in our lab.
- Responsible for vendor engagement and roadmap reviews within the area of their respective subject matter expertise, and providing input to Boldyn’s Private Networks platform roadmap
What you’ll bring

- Strong background in Network Engineering with a particular focus on security, high availability, and large-scale wired and wireless environments, ideally within a carrier environment.
- Minimum of 10 years of experience in network engineering with 3 or more years of experience in systems engineering or DevOps engineering
- In-depth knowledge of the following network protocols: BGP, IS-IS, OSPF, MPLS, TCP/IP, BFD, Q-in-Q, QoS, EVPN VxLAN, EVPN MPLS, and/or PBB-TE.
- Knowledge of SIP call flow, TCP Protocols, OSI Model and protocol analysis using Wireshark.
- Strong experience in Mobile Packet Core Engineering (LTE EPC/core; 5G packet core)
- Expert knowledge of Linux operating system.
- Experience with scripting such as scripting such as Python, Shell Scripting, Perl, and Ansible.
- Working knowledge of 3GPP LTE and 3GPP 5G-NR SA mobile core and transport network architectures for mobile networks.
- Experience with ElasticSearch, Logstash, Kibana (ELK) highly desirable
- Prior experience working at a wireless carrier, hyperscaler, or mobile network equipment vendor a plus (Verizon, T-Mobile, AT&T, Google, Amazon, Nokia, HPE/Athonet, Ericsson, etc.).
- Proficient in standard business productivity suites: Microsoft Office, Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Visio, etc. required.
- BS in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science or other related engineering discipline.
