Job Title:Senior HR SpecialistJob Description:

Summary

The Senior Human Resource Specialist will serve as the key connection between the Human Resources team (HR) and HR Information Systems (HRIS) team, leading HR-related technology and process improvement projects.   This position will focus on identifying HR operational needs and coordinating system enhancements.   This role will also assist with general HR team tasks and responsibilities, ensuring smooth HR operations and associate support.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities

  • Maintain and update the HRIS system  ensuring data integrity and accuracy. 

  • Act as the primary HR representative in collaboration with the HRIS team to ensure oversight of our HCM and other HR related systems. Research and resolve HRIS issues and recommend solutions and alternate methods. 

  • Lead and monitor project progress, manage risks, and communicate updates to leadership.

  • Perform regular and routine processing to ensure consistency and accuracy, including position management, job profile updates, job audits, etc. 

  • Collaborate with HRIS, IT, and HR teams to maintain and manage system updates and releases. Act as an internal subject matter expert (SME) on HRIS for HR programs and partner with other SMEs as needed.

  • Maintain the library of HRIS resources and guides, ensuring up-to-date processes and information. 

  • Stay current on HRIS best practices in order to implement and enhance the existing system, processes and training.

  • Provide direct support and assistance to the HR team on Human Resources related matters, ensuring alignment with company policies, goals and objectives. May be responsible for answering policy and procedure related questions.

  • Run reports and assist with data review and analysis to track and measure HR metrics. 

  • Ensure compliance with federal and state regulations.

  • May assist and provide support with other HR team processes and needs. 

  • Performs other duties and projects as assigned. 

Qualifications

  • Strong technical skills, with the ability and motivation to learn and advance knowledge with HRIS/Workday

  • Strong written and verbal presentation skills

  • Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate effectively

  • Basic knowledge of federal and state labor law. Ability to learn employment law in California

  • Ability to understand and communicate business needs in an understandable and succinct manner

  • Results-oriented and self-motivated

  • Excellent organization, planning skills, and attention to detail

  • Ability to handle sensitive/confidential information

Supervisory Responsibilities

  • None

Education and/or Experience

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Human Resources or related field preferred

  • Minimum 5 years’ human resources experience in a fast-paced environment with a team focus

  • Minimum 3 years’ Workday experience.

Computer and Software Skills

  • Microsoft Office suite

  • Workday 

  • Google suite
