1. Savings: This KPI is one of the most important KPIs for Procurement Category Leads as it measures the cost savings achieved through effective category management practices. Savings can be achieved through various strategies such as supplier consolidation, negotiation, and value engineering. Procurement Category Leads are responsible for setting savings targets, tracking progress against those targets, and identifying new opportunities for savings. This metric is expressed as a percentage of the total spend for the category.

2. Supplier Performance: This metric measures the performance of suppliers in terms of delivery, quality, and service level agreements. This metric will be tracked through supplier scorecards that measure key performance indicators such as on-time delivery, defect rates, and responsiveness. Supplier performance can have a significant impact on the overall performance of the category and the organization. Procurement Category Leads are responsible for monitoring supplier performance, identifying areas for improvement, and implementing corrective actions when necessary.

3. Contract Compliance: This metric measures the degree to which suppliers comply with the terms and conditions of the contract (external compliance) as well as spend covered by mutually signed contracts (internal compliance). This metric can be tracked through contract management systems that monitor compliance with key contract clauses such as pricing, delivery, and quality requirements. Contract compliance is critical for ensuring that suppliers deliver goods or services that meet the organization's requirements. Procurement Category Leads are responsible for monitoring contract compliance, identifying areas of non-compliance, and taking corrective actions to ensure compliance.

Procurement Category Leads are responsible for identifying opportunities to reduce the total cost of ownership, such as through value engineering or supplier consolidation.

6. Cycle Time: This metric measures the time it takes to complete the procurement process from the time a need is identified to the time the goods or services are delivered.
