Apply your broad experience in the procurement of IT Software-as-a-Service (SaaS) while interacting with Red Hat’s Leadership and Executive teams. The Red Hat Finance team is looking for a Senior Global Category Leader to join us. In this role, you will work as part of the Global Procurement team, which is organized into major spend categories including IT Software-as-a-Service (SaaS), IT infrastructure, including hardware, cloud, and telecom, marketing and sales, corporate services, global workplace solutions (real estate and facilities), and travel. You’ll be responsible for engaging Red Hat’s stakeholders, supporting procurement strategies, leading strategic sourcing initiatives, negotiating contracts, and managing strategic supplier relationships. As a Senior Global Category Leader, your work will involve developing category management strategies and optimizing the purchase of goods and services for IT Software-as-a-Service (SaaS), with a heavy emphasis on software, SaaS and IT Services. Your success will be measured against business metrics like savings, stakeholder satisfaction, strategic contract management, and supplier management.
What you will do:

Partner with stakeholders and budget owners to support business requirements and develop a strategic global category plan

Support stakeholders spend requirements and priorities by guiding procurement initiatives

Establish preferred suppliers and ensure and proper policies are used and leveraged
-
Gain knowledge of supplier markets, supply risk levels, assess supplier capabilities, and help define and improve company's local, regional, and global panel of suppliers

Select supplier sources by guiding competitive sourcing activities

Form contracts with selected suppliers to negotiate optimal terms and conditions

Establish consumption-based engagement models and operationalize negotiated contracts

Develop a strategy and approach to optimize key supplier partnerships and simplify the buying approach with rate cards

Define supplier performance indicators, build and communicate related dashboards, and manage supplier performance for key suppliers via stakeholder feedback and performance-based metrics

Ensure that appropriate business controls are in place to reduce risk and protect Red Hat
What you will bring:

A Bachelor’s degree in business, supply chain or related field is required
-
10+ years procurement experience in Services category management
-
Extensive experience developing and leading strategic sourcing initiatives for Corporate, Professional and/or HR Services purchases

Solid analytical skills in performing bid analysis, cost analysis, fair-value analysis, and scenario modeling
-
Excellent problem solving skills with development and implementation of creative solutions

Solid experience with contract negotiations at senior levels
-
Experience in building relationships with a diverse set of stakeholders and suppliers
-
Proven ability to persuade and influence a wide range of stakeholders
-
Experience leading multi-disciplined projects with minimal amount of supervision

Experience presenting complex ideas to management in a simplified manner

Customer service oriented and ability to work well within a team

Excellent English communication skills, both written and verbal
The salary range for this position is $103,290.00 - $170,500.00. Actual offer will be based on your qualifications.
Pay Transparency
Red Hat determines compensation based on several factors including but not limited to job location, experience, applicable skills and training, external market value, and internal pay equity. Annual salary is one component of Red Hat’s compensation package. This position may also be eligible for bonus, commission, and/or equity. For positions with Remote-US locations, the actual salary range for the position may differ based on location but will be commensurate with job duties and relevant work experience.
