Senior Geo Data Scientist

We are seeking a talented Senior Geo Data Scientist to join our dynamic team. In this role, you will be instrumental in advancing our spatial data analytics capabilities, driving insights from complex geospatial data sets, and developing innovative solutions to solve critical business challenges.

Key Responsibilities:

• Apply advanced statistical and machine learning techniques to analyze large-scale geospatial data sets.
• Develop and implement algorithms and models for spatial data analysis, feature extraction, and predictive modeling.
• Collaborate closely with cross-functional teams to understand business requirements and translate them into technical solutions.
• Design and optimize data pipelines for efficient data extraction, transformation, and loading (ETL) processes.
• Provide technical leadership and mentorship to junior team members.
• Stay updated with industry trends and advancements in geospatial technologies and data science methodologies.
• Present findings and recommendations to stakeholders and executive leadership in a clear and actionable manner.

Requirements:

• Advanced degree (Masters or Ph.D.) in Geoinformatics, Computer Science, Statistics, or a related field.
• Proven experience (3+ years) as a Data Scientist or Geo Data Scientist, with a strong focus on geospatial analytics and data modeling.
• Proficiency in programming languages such as Python, R, or Java, with experience in geospatial libraries (e.g., GDAL, GeoPandas, PostGIS).
• Deep understanding of machine learning techniques, statistical analysis, and data visualization methods as applied to geospatial data.
• Experience with GIS tools and platforms (e.g., ArcGIS, QGIS, ..etc) and familiarity with spatial databases.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
• Excellent communication skills with the ability to convey complex technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
