About The Role

As a senior engineer you will work with our Cloud Platform team designing and developing web services, device IoT services and customer facing applications. The successful candidate shall have strong experience working on IoT cloud application and has worked with cloud deployment models and test-driven development in a fast-paced agile environment.

Your key responsibilities will include but not limited to:

• You will maintain cloud applications on Azure and Ali cloud
• Working closely with the product managers to build new features and fixing issues
• Manage, design and develop back-end microservices and REST APIs for connected devices, web applications, and mobile applications
• Manage, design and develop front-end application components for web and mobile
• Collaborate with development teams on user-facing features and services
• Work with platform architects on software and system optimizations, helping to identify and remove potential performance bottlenecks
• Making sure code is of highest quality by doing static and dynamic code analysis
• Stay up to date on relevant technologies, plug into user groups, understand trends and opportunities that ensure we are using the best techniques and tools
• Collaborate with global dev-ops team to ensure the IoT platforms are up and healthy
• Providing technical support to teams within the organisation, and to external clients when required
• Assisting with systems integrations, liaising with system and embedded software development teams
• Maintaining and updating technical documents and procedures of the IoT platform

In this role you will be collaborating with various stakeholders (internally with Digital Product Development Manager, Digital System Engineering Manager, OBU Software Development Manager, Product Portfolio Manager; externally with External Development teams, Customers using our Digital Platform) across the business including our Global functions teams in Netherlands & other parts of the world.

Our organization supports a hybrid working approach. You will be supporting markets in multiple time zones and some flexibility around working hours will be needed.

About You

To be successful in this role you will have:

• BS in Computer Science, IT, IS, or equivalent area of technical study with 5-7 years of work experience in developing/executing large-scale distributed systems with a focus on building Internet of Things (IoT) applications.
• Strong knowledge and hands-on experience on Java 11+, Spring boot 2+ based backend applications
• Strong knowledge of OOP paradigm and design patterns
• Strong Knowledge of containerization and orchestration (Docker, Kubernetes, Azure Kubernetes services)
• Good knowledge of database design and transaction management
• Good knowledge of the development of component-based front-end applications in VueJS with typescript. Experience with NodeJS is a plus.
• Experience of working with CentOS/Ubuntu, OpenAPI, REST API, gPRC, Kafka, Redis, PostgreSQL, Mybatis, ELK stack, Helm and Terraform, KeyCloack, SAML, OpenID, Oauth2, Nginx
• Knowledge of public key infrastructure
• Experience in maintenance of code quality using Sonarqube
• Comprehensive experience in working with microservices architecture
• Experience with version control using Git, administering and deploying development using CI/CD tools such Jira, Jenkins
• Experience with automated testing
• Experience with multi-threading and concurrency
• Excellent command of English, written and verbal
• Open minded, involved, team oriented, creative and agile personality is much appreciated.
• Excellent communication skills and ability to work independently and with the team Knowledge of Agile methodology and frameworks like Scrum, Kanban, etc.
• Experience in multidisciplinary project team management
• Ability to work with remote teams.
• Conflict resolution experience, and intercultural awareness.

Language

Good written and spoken English is essential

Qualification / Education

Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science / Information Technology or equivalent area of technical study
