About The Role

We are looking for our first FP&A Analyst to build and scale our Financial Planning & Analysis function from the ground up. This is a high-impact role at a fast-growing travel startup, where you'll partner closely with Finance leadership and cross-functional teams to drive financial insights and strategic decision-making.

Reporting directly to the VP of Finance, you’ll be responsible for developing core financial models, leading budgeting and forecasting processes, and supporting corporate development initiatives—including evaluating new commercial opportunities and potential M&A. You’ll work closely with our Controller on financial reporting, while also collaborating with Marketing, Advisor Experience, and R&D teams to provide the financial intelligence that powers our growth.

Key Responsibilities

Financial Planning & Forecasting

  • Build and maintain company-wide financial models to support decision-making.
  • Lead the budgeting and forecasting process, partnering with department heads to align on financial goals.
  • Develop financial dashboards and reporting to track performance, identify trends, and support leadership discussions.

Strategic & Ad-Hoc Analysis

  • Conduct ad-hoc commercial opportunity assessments, including pricing strategy, new revenue streams, and market expansion.
  • Analyze marketing and growth performance, measuring CAC, LTV, and ROI to optimize spend.
  • Work with Advisor Experience & R&D to evaluate the financial impact of key initiatives.

Corporate Development & M&A Support

  • Assist in evaluating potential M&A opportunities, including financial modeling, market research, and due diligence.
  • Support leadership with competitive analysis and industry benchmarking to inform strategic decisions.

Financial Reporting & Cross-Functional Collaboration

  • Partner with the Controller to align FP&A with financial reporting and ensure forecast accuracy.
  • Provide monthly reporting packages for leadership, including variance analysis and key financial insights.
  • Act as a financial thought partner to teams across the company, helping them understand the financial impact of their decisions.

Requirements

Total Experience: 2-4 years of experience in FP&A, investment banking, private equity, consulting, or corporate finance.

Analytical Skills:  A strong data-driven mindset with the ability to analyze trends, operational metrics, and customer behavior . Must be adept at using data to guide strategic decisions and optimize processes.

  • Strong financial modeling and data analysis skills (Excel, Google Sheets). 
  • Experience with budgeting, forecasting, and scenario modeling
  • Proficiency in SQL or BI tools (Looker, Tableau, Power BI) for financial data extraction & visualization
  • Ability to analyze revenue drivers, unit economics, CAC, LTV, and gross margin 

Communication: Outstanding communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to influence stakeholders at all levels of the organization. Must be able to collaborate effectively with internal teams and external partners. Strong presentation skills and an ability to navigate complex discussions with internal stakeholders are essential. Can present financial insights clearly to non-finance stakeholders

Project Management: Proven ability to manage multiple high-priority projects simultaneously in a dynamic, fast-paced environment. Candidates should excel at organizing and working with cross-functional teams, ensuring timely delivery of initiatives and overcoming obstacles in a startup-like context.

Education: Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or related field. Commitment to continuous learning and personal development is essential. 

Strongly Preferred:

  • Experience in a travel, marketplace, fintech, or subscription-based business model
  • Exposure to M&A and corporate development processes
  • Familiarity with accounting principles (GAAP) and working closely with Controllers
  • Understanding of SaaS and transaction-based business models
  • Experience setting up FP&A tools and financial reporting processes from scratch

Compensation

Compensation range for this role can vary widely depending on experience, and for this role an indicative range is $90k-$135k + equity. Other benefits include:
