Make Your Mark:
BlackLine is looking for an experienced Senior Financial Systems Analyst to join our Financial Systems team. In this role, you will primarily focus on supporting Zuora Billing and Zuora Revenue within our Order-to-Revenue (O2R) processes. As a key member of the team, you will be responsible for optimizing Zuora's functionality within the finance ecosystem to ensure seamless integration and performance for our accounting and billing teams. The ideal candidate will have strong technical experience with Zuora, working as an administrator and developer, as well as expertise in managing applications that support O2R processes. This is a highly collaborative role, requiring strong communication skills and the ability to translate business needs into efficient, scalable technical solutions.
You'll Get To:
• Serve as the primary point of contact for Zuora Billing and Zuora Revenue related user inquiries. Provide expert guidance to internal teams on configuration, customization, and best practices.
• Support the implementation of new features and assist in maintaining compliance with ASC 606 and other relevant accounting standards. Ensure configurations are aligned with revenue recognition and reporting requirements.
• Build custom scripts and SQL queries to support project needs relating to migrations, new feature implementations, data backfill and analysis.
• Provide first-tier user support for all Zuora-related issues. Troubleshoot system issues, escalate when necessary, and document resolutions in JIRA. Ensure end users receive timely assistance and the appropriate technical guidance.
• Lead or assist with system enhancement projects through the full SDLC, collaborating with both technical and business teams. Where applicable, manage external consultants to ensure complex enhancements are delivered successfully.
• Oversee and support the integration of Zuora with other financial systems (e.g., NetSuite, Salesforce) to ensure smooth data flow, accuracy, and timeliness. Troubleshoot and resolve integration errors.
• Manage change control processes for responsible systems, ensuring compliance with SOX and ITGCs. Document changes, approvals, and appropriate signoff in JIRA.
• Stay informed on Zuora's system releases and enhancements. Test new features, conduct regression testing, and ensure that system changes do not disrupt business processes. Manage and communicate the impact of releases to the broader team.
• Maintain detailed documentation of all Zuora system customizations, configurations, processes, and procedures. Create training materials to help educate end-users on system functionality and best practices.
• Proactively identify opportunities for system and process improvements. Suggest and implement automation or integration solutions to streamline workflows, reduce manual work, and enhance the revenue recognition processes.
• Customize Zuora reports, saved searches, and dashboards to meet the specific needs of the business.
What You'll Bring:
7+ years of hands-on experience with Zuora Billing and Zuora Revenue, including new system or feature implementation, configuration, customization, integrations, and reporting.
• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Information Systems, Computer Science, Business Administration, or a related field.
• Must be proficient with Zuora Billing and Zuora Revenue. Experience working with other financial systems (e.g., NetSuite, Salesforce,) is a plus.
• Experienced building Zuora workflows, custom data queries and, leveraging Zuora APIs for maintaining custom processes or data backfills. Ability to write custom scripts to support data migrations or other automations.
• Strong understanding of the Order-to-Revenue (O2R) processes, billing, invoicing, collections, and revenue recognition.
• Understanding and experience of revenue recognition under ASC 606.
• Detail-oriented with a focus on accuracy, particularly when dealing with financial systems, reports, and revenue recognition
