Job Description Summary:
BorgWarner India Technical Center (BW ITC) currently has ~550 engineers working on software and systems competency supporting multiple awarded projects and internal platform development activities for the PDS.
General responsibilities of this position include support finance team in daily operations adhering to BW controls and process. Under the direction of the finance team, the thriving analyst will update and maintain financial records, account and process vendor payments and employee reimbursements, Secretarial compliance and manage our accounting databases. He/She shall perform accounting duties within a fast-paced finance department, while adhering to established accounting standards. The analyst should be a resource for end-to-end AP, Secretarial activities and assist in audit and other compliance requests. He/She would need to execute accurate reporting, filing, and database management in multiple systems in addition to ensuring confidentiality in keeping the information and securing financial information by database backup completion. He or she will join like-minded financial experts continually focused on sharpening their skills.
The position reports to the Manager-Finance, BW India Technical Center, and will be located at the Bengaluru facility in India.

Key Responsibility:

  • Handle secretarial activities for the legal entity as required, like conducting AGMs, obtain BRs as per business needs, liaising with legal teams and authorities as required, periodic filings (MGT14/7, MSME returns etc.), Preparing/Compiling Statutory registers for IPEC, Registrations etc.
  • Ensure all statutory compliances based on evolving business needs.
  • Adhere to business controls to ensure BW policies and financial goals are met and continually monitor the same.
  • Proper accounting of Invoices, Prepaid and T&E claims to ensure accurate cost center reporting for Engineering R & D reporting and for other functional disciplines as required.
  • Verify and post details of business transactions, such as funds received and disbursed, and totals accounts to ledgers and databases
  • Process journal entries and reconcile vendor accounts in comparison to general ledger
  • Prepare consolidated internal and external financial statements by analyzing information from the general ledger system
  • Review and balance internal accounts, analyze variances with financial software
  • Match, batch, and coding vendor invoices
  • Participate in month-end close activities, including preparation of journal entries, reconciliation of accounts, tax computations, and other accounting duties in a timely manner
  • Support the team for legal entity related financial statements and filings.
  • Support Indian regulatory compliance, including all statutory requirements viz., GST, Customs, taxes, etc.

Work Experience/Skills:

  • Natural Proficiency with Math
  • Knowledge of basic financial, tax, and accounting principles
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail
  • Demonstrated experience with Indian regulatory requirements
  • ERP experience (SAP experience a strong plus)
  • Hands-on experience in Microsoft office with aptitude to learn new systems
  • Working in an Engineering industry will be an added advantage.
  • Experience with Onestream is a plus
