Job Description:

Position Overview: We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Senior Financial Analyst to join our finance team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for determining the costing for our internally developed software products as well as for 3rd-party application used by our clients. This role requires a deep understanding of various cost elements, including cloud costs, IT infrastructure costs, software development cost and third-party software licenses. The individual must also be well-versed in accounting treatments for software costs and SaaS costs. Additionally, the candidate should have a strong grasp of costing concepts related to capacity and utilization to obtain cost per unit. This role is a key contributor to software margin analysis and corresponding business strategies and a contributor to our planning processes.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Analyze and determine the costing for internal software products, focusing on cloud costs, IT infrastructure costs, and third-party software license cost – cost of providing SaaS.
  • Develop and maintain cost models to support pricing and financial planning.
  • Understand and apply accounting treatments for software license costs and SaaS costs to reflect in costing models accordingly.
  • Analyze capacity and utilization to determine cost per unit and provide insights for cost optimization.
  • Determine gross cost for internally developed software applications.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to gather and analyze financial and operational data.
  • Prepare and present financial reports and analysis to senior management.
  • Assist in annual budget and monthly forecast process

  • Provide cost input and details for scenario analysis.
  • Continuously improve financial processes and systems to enhance efficiency and accuracy.
  • Work with IT function and businesses to maintain an accurate applications catalog.
  • Prepare presentations and present to Senior Leadership team
  • Special projects as assigned.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, or a related field.
  • A minimum of 5 years of experience in Cost Accounting, Financial Planning & Analysis (FP&A), or a similar role.
  • Strong understanding of accounting treatments for software costs and SaaS costs.
  • Proficiency in costing concepts related to capacity and utilization.
  • Deep understanding of Azure, AWS, and other cloud AI costing methodologies
  • Excellent Excel skills, including advanced functions and data analysis.
  • Self-driven, with a strong sense of curiosity and drive.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

Preferred Skills:

  • Experience with financial modeling and cost analysis.
  • Knowledge of cloud computing and IT infrastructure components, such as Servers, Storage, Networks.
  • Familiarity with costing analysis for the seller-side of SaaS
  • Familiarity with third-party software products and their cost structures, e.g. license cost, support cost, software assurance.
  • Ability to perform per unit stress analysis using several fixed and variable input costs of various units of measure.
  • Deep understanding of Azure, AWS, and other cloud AI costing methodologies
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines.
  • Experience in Power BI, SAP, Alteryx, Office 365 a major plus

The Compensation range for this role is 67,482.90 - 134,965.20 USD annually and may be eligible for an annual bonus. Actual compensation within that range will be dependent upon the individual's location, skills, experience and qualifications.
