Work Arrangement
This role is categorized as hybrid. This means the successful candidate is expected to report to GM Global Technical Center-Cole Engineering Center Tower, Warren MI, three times per week, at minimum.
The Role
Serve as a Finance partner to Operating Staff with timely and relevant reporting and analysis that drives the most informed business decisions. Provide analysis, insights and recommendations that drive profitability, mitigate risks and offer solutions to business problems.
What You'll Do
The successful candidate will provide financial support for Executive Director of Software and Services organization through the following:

  • Collaborate with Software and Service teams to gather inputs relating to financial Budgets, forecast and Long-Term financial plan.
  • Review cost inputs from business needs, affordability perspective and consolidate for review on timely basis.
  • Review month end actuals from SAP ledger and finance planning systems and compare variances with respect to forecast /Budget and provide actionable insight in meeting cost objectives.
  • Prepare monthly finance reports and present the analysis to S&S IT and finance leadership.
  • Provide high quality actionable insights into cost optimization and achieving cost targets.
  • Understanding business and organizational goals to enhance quality of business partnering.
  • Monitoring actively cost approval requests that go to Executive Directors for approvals.
  • Work with Purchasing teams and S&S teams to evaluate large contract deals from budgetary impact perspective. Make recommendation to drive highest value for the business.
  • Lead and participate in team and /or organizational finance transformation projects that drive simplification, automation, and efficiency.
  • Participate in activities and events that foster collaboration, business performance and higher employee engagement.


Additional Description
Your Skills & Abilities (Required Qualifications)

  • Bachelors degree in Business, Accounting, Finance, Economics or related field
  • 5+ years of related, relevant experience in business partnering and financial support in large organizations
  • Self-directed, able to work with minimal supervision.
  • Strong decision-making skills; experience in using finance tools - SAP , Hyperion , One Stream , Excel and Powerpoint
  • Demonstrated leadership, strong analytical skills, and technical aptitude.
  • Prominent level of people skills to work effectively and collaborate cross-functionally with a variety of different groups (internal & external)
  • High degree of proficiency with excel, including formula & function.
  • Ability to prioritize assignments/projects and multi-task within restricted time constraints (Fast/Responsive)
  • Ability to perform under tight deadlines.
  • Keen ability to deal with ambiguity.

  • MBA , CPA Degrees and experience in managing 100+ USD million of annual expense and capital budgets.
  • Interpersonal, and relationship management skills with the ability to effectively collaborate with varying levels of the organization.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to distill complex subjects to a wider audience.
  • Prominent level of integrity, ability to deal with ambiguity, takes initiative/self-directed.
  • Evidence of strong character with integrity, honesty, accountability, and trust
  • Consistently demonstrates innovative thinking that is customer centric.
  • Excellent project management skills and the proven history to manage numerous projects at any given.
  • Possess strong organizational, problem-solving, and analytical skills.
  • Fundamental digital literacy including understanding of MS Outlook, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
