About the role
The Senior Finance Analyst will deliver on month-end accounting, performance reporting and process improvement for our technology function/business unit. This role will be responsible for providing accounting and commercial evaluations of Technology projects, as well as financial analytical analysis to facilitate change and drive better decision making across the business unit.
This is a 12 month fixed-term role, based in Melbourne.
What you’ll be doing

Report on business performance results, trends and metrics, providing analysis on drivers of variances, risks and opportunities.

Provide support to Senior Finance Manager and GM of Commercial CM & Technology in preparation of annual and 4-year plan/budget/forecasts.

Drive and refine forecast and budget processes to produce reliable financial forecasts, covering both operational and capital expenditure.

Preparation and delivery of BPR, GPR & QBR including both financial (P&L, Cash Flow, Balance Sheet, Capex) and non-financial metrics (FTE, utilisation, benefit tracking, leads, key contracts etc.)

Support development and continual improvement of long-term financial modelling capability.

Support capital appraisal of the IT investment portfolio (including capital prioritisation).

Support analysis and optimisation of IT operations (including development of a Technology Showback, Corporate allocations model and Labour modelling).

Identify and lead recommended system and process changes to improve efficiencies, accuracies & clarity of understanding of results.

Work alongside colleagues to establish and ensure smooth running of Month End processes.
What you’ll bring
-
Business, Finance or Accounting degree and CA / CPA qualified.

5+ years employment experience in a finance business partnering role.

Strong understanding of key budget/forecast items (both financial and non-financial) and experience in preparing annual budgets, forecasts and corporate plans.

Proven success in driving continuous improvements, business capability and forecast accuracy across IT projects.

Demonstrated experience in providing financial analysis support to business management within a dynamic and complex industry/organisation.

SAP business planning and consolidation experience desirable.

Advanced Excel skills and experience with financial modelling.

Experience with visualisation tools (e.g., Power BI) highly regarded.

Excellent communication skills; ability to clearly communicate key messages to a range of stakeholders (finance and non-finance) across all levels.

Ability to work collaboratively with others and build/maintain strong working relationships.
