About the Role

The Abnormal marketing team has an immediate opening for a Sr. Field and Channel Marketing Manager, Federal, who is dynamic, energetic, and organized.  Marketing specialties should include: Field Marketing, Channel Marketing, Marketing Programs & Campaigns, Demand Generation, and Marketing Project Management.

The Field & Channel Marketing Manager (FCMM) for Federal is responsible for creating and delivering segment and channel marketing plans and programs that may include trade shows, industry conferences, seminars, lunch-n-learns, exec dinners, user groups, 3rd party media sponsorships, webinars and ABM.  Working closely with the sales organization, this role ensures that Marketing and Sales are aligned on the key activities needed to deliver Federal sales and business targets.

The FCMM, Federal, manages the activities and performance of Federal marketing programs to support the field in achieving bookings targets, delivering programs that are executed on time, within budget, and deliver measurable results. In addition to sales enablement, critical deliverables include the creation and execution of high-performing demand marketing programs that deliver maximum impact and ROI within the Federal segment of the business. Organization, problem-solving abilities and project management are a must-have for success in this role. This position will require 10-15% travel. 


What you will do

As Sr. Field & Channel Marketing Manager, Federal, you will be responsible for: 

  1. Strategic Planning and Execution
    • Develop and implement marketing strategies and programs tailored to the federal government market, that generate qualified leads, business opportunities and pipeline progression that align with overall business objectives.
    • Collaborate with sales and channel teams to create and execute region-specific marketing plans that drive awareness, demand, and pipeline growth.
    • Define and implement Federal-specific marketing campaigns that bring together corporate programs and field opportunities
    • Partner with sales leaders, account executives, account managers and channel managers to support regional goals
  2. Event and Campaign Management
    • Plan, manage, and execute field events, webinars, and campaigns targeting federal agencies and stakeholders.
    • Ensure event success by managing logistics, budgets, messaging, and follow-up processes.
    • Communicate with sales to gain buy-in, understanding and participation in marketing events and programs
    • Attend key events, network, and educate attendees on product offerings; be a brand advocate
  3. Channel Partner Engagement
    • Collaborate with channel partners to design and execute co-marketing initiatives that amplify reach and drive joint pipeline growth.
    • Develop marketing materials and tools to support partner-led activities and ensure alignment with brand guidelines.
  4. Content and Messaging
    • Tailor marketing content and messaging to resonate with federal buyers, focusing on compliance, security, and mission-driven outcomes.
    • Recommend and manage the development of communication tools and materials, such as sales invitations, emails, collateral, presentations, signage, etc.
    • Ensure all marketing efforts align with federal government regulations and procurement requirements.
  5. Performance Measurement and Reporting
    • Set targets, track, measure and analyze impact of programs on lead funnel and pipeline; demonstrate measurable progress and regional success
    • Analyze campaign results and provide recommendations for optimization.
  6. Budget Management
    • Manage and allocate quarterly marketing budgets efficiently, ensuring maximum ROI from campaigns and initiatives.
  7. Collaboration and Alignment
    • Partner with federal sales teams, account executives, and channel managers to ensure marketing aligns with sales priorities and pipeline needs, and lead follow-up strategies are followed.
    • Work closely with corporate marketing to adapt global campaigns for the federal audience.

Must Haves

  • 5+ years of high-tech marketing experience, preferably in cybersecurity and working with security practice partners
  • 2+ years of marketing experience focused on federal government marketing
  • Proven ability and track record of planning and executing successful Federal marketing programs and campaigns
  • Experience managing and organizing local, regional, and virtual events
  • Metrics-driven marketer with experience and passion for proving marketing results across the funnel
  • Self-driven, problem-solver, takes initiative in driving projects forward, strong attention to detail, and able to prioritize in a fast-paced environment
  • Strong interpersonal skills and ability to earn trust and respect from sales management
  • “Owner Mentality”. Has the ability and willingness to operate autonomously, roll up their sleeves and execute to get the job done.
  • Dynamic, energetic, and highly organized, with the ability to prioritize and manage workloads effectively
  • Excellent written, verbal and communication skills with the ability to craft compelling messaging for a federal audience
  • Ability to work cross-functionally and build strong relationships with internal teams and external partners.
  • Ability to travel 10-15% 

Nice to Have

  • Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Business, or a related field; MBA or relevant certifications are a plus.
  • Experience in budget tracking QoQ & planning 90-180 days forward
  • Proficiency in marketing tools (SF.com, Marketo, business intelligence, etc.)
  • Strong understanding of federal government procurement processes, regulations, and buying behaviors
  • Experience marketing cybersecurity products/solutions
