Senior ESG Specialist

Will you, as an ESG Specialist in the ESG Center, help us build the investment manager of tomorrow? This challenging role requires a deep understanding of ESG regulations, a good understanding of how to implement them across the operational value chain, excellent project management skills and ability to manage stakeholders across all seniority levels.
You will be responsible for various strategic projects as well as recurring reporting. In an ideal world, you bring in addition also a good understanding of ESG investing in various asset classes and also have experience dealing with various ESG data providers and possess the ability to translate regulatory requirements and / or investment concepts (e.g., exclusion frameworks) in clear and clean business requirements for our software & data engineers.

What would your role be?

• Take ownership and lead the hands-on implementation of ESG (self-) regulations such as AMAS 2.0, SFDR, EU Taxonomy, CSRD for our institutional client business
• Manage various strategic projects on the ESG Investment Roadmap
• Collaborate as a subject matter expert with our RFP and sales support teams to respond to client requests.
• Handle reporting for relevant ESG related regulations, Codes and Labels on behalf of Vontobel Asset Management and Investment CoE (e.g., UN PRI, UK Stewardship Code, Vontobel Sustainability Report, PAI Statement, EU Taxonomy Templates for Asset Managers

What are we looking for?

• Structured approach to work and the ability to work under pressure to meet deadlines.
• Strong project management and communication skills
• Curious with a strong desire to learn and improve the status quo
• Ability to translate investment concepts and regulations into technical requirements for implementation
• At least bachelor’s degree or equivalent, optimally in finance, banking, or any other related subject
• Ability to clearly formulate in English and German (both oral and written)
• At least, 3-4 years of experience in the ESG investments / sustainable investing field
