Senior Environment Advisor – Bayswater Power StationRole Overview:
AGL is seeking an experienced Senior Environment Advisor to join our Bayswater Power Station team. The role focuses on providing environmental support to ensure on-site compliance, mitigate risks, and enhance environmental performance. Reporting to the Senior Manager Environment, the successful candidate will collaborate with operations teams to implement the Health, Safety, and Environment Management Systems, drive strategic environmental programs, mentor the team and offer expert advice on environmental matters.

Key Responsibilities:
-
Advise internal stakeholders on environmental aspects to ensure regulatory compliance.
-
Collaborate with operational sites, providing technical input for project development and risk assessments.
-
Implement site-based programs aligned with AGL’s HSE Strategy to achieve environmental objectives.
-
Identify trends, manage environmental risks, and maintain risk registers.
-
Develop and conduct assurance activities, including audits and inspections, to ensure compliance.
-
Manage environmental incidents, conduct investigations, and handle necessary reporting.
Qualifications and Experience:
-
Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Environmental Science, Engineering, or a related field.
-
Experience in Environmental Management or Site Operations.
-
Proven experience in stakeholder engagement and management.
-
Can assess and mitigate environmental risk.
-
Experience managing consultants, contractors, and laboratories responsible for field investigations and data analysis.
-
Comprehensive knowledge of Australian environmental legislation.
About Bayswater Power Station:
Located in New South Wales’ Upper Hunter, Bayswater Power Station is a critical component of AGL's energy generation portfolio. Our Environment Team is dedicated to ensuring the site's operations adhere to the highest environmental standards, contributing to AGL's commitment to sustainable and responsible energy production.
